the thing is that Jean Charles de Menezes was shot because procedure wasn't followed...making the police more autonomous would I strongly suspect make breakdowns in procedure far more common
jean charles de menezes was assassinated because he worked as a contract electrician on the london underground and saw something he should'nt have done related to the 7/7 bombings staggers and killing him was no procedural error.
Why is it that secretive, all powerful, shadowy forces always do things in bizarre and ridiculous ways. You know, so JCM knew abot the lizards who plante dth e7/7 bombs, bu tthe only way the lizards could think of to kill him was messily, in public, in a way calculated to draw the most attention.
No tricky little poisons. No blocke dflues on his gas boiler that silently choke himself to death. No random drive buy shooting that no-one in Sarf London comments on. Just six coppers, bricking thmeselves over a shout on the radio that the guy is gonna go all Palestinian on a tube train.
I love conspiracy theories I do....

in the public domain and well documented.
jean charles was a contract electrician, brazilian working in london.
the day after his murder, the metropolitan police public statement said a terrorist suspect had been followed, on a hot day, wearing a big jacket with wires hanging out of it and chased down a subway jumping over barriers and when cornered was shot in the belief he was going to set off a bomb as i recall.
at the public hearing, it was found that he did not have a big jacket on, that he did not jump barriers, that he was restrained by one officer on the tube and another fired 6 bullets into him and eye witnesses said he did not resist.
i, and his family call that murder not procedural error and i still cant see a connection with a new world order. i thought new world order was gordon brown's favourite saying.

He was shot as I remember because he had been incorrectly identified as the suspect the police were watching...he was incorrectly identified due a breakdown in communications amongst other lies and prevarications the police issued in an attempt to justify/cover up their incompetence are a different matter to the reasons he was killed

"At the inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes, the legal team acting for the family raised a range of concerns about the police operation at every level, including in particular the lack of clarity and control in the command structure, the confusion over the role of the Designated Senior Officer, the lack of clarity over identification, the failure of communication between the different teams (control room, surveillance and firearms) and the inherent weakness in the MPS strategy to deal with failed suicide bombers. It was the family’s position that the combination of these serious failings contributed directly to the death of Jean Charles and the jury at the inquest, insofar as they were permitted to, shared this view in their verdict.
New world order jibes aside. Gulson you do sometimes come across as a classic conspiracy theorist

and if your not a conspiracy theroist you are probably a bigot :giggle:
ok firstly this was probably the worst assassination in history so i dont subscribe to this a bungled burglary would have been so easy a mugging gone wrong stabbing etc etc
next big deal a guy got shot by mistake
so did a lad in liverpool baby p and many more have been killed due to a a failure of communication by social services , tens of people die due to mistakes in hospitals every week,
"but i dont want police running around with guns"boo hoo
sorry if someone takes one of your beloveds hostage with a gun im sure you `d all be happy to see a few local bobbys with a good old pair of handcuffs and a truncheon take on a mad gunman innocent
it was a bad mistake that ended someone life it happens every day so why is this one so much more important ,or is it more milk-able dunno
