We all can have as much to say about the troops being sent, but it won't make a jot of difference.
The Yanks are right to be there as to pull out now would be madness. More troops will hopefully mean the job can be done better and quicker.
At least the Yanks have some balls unlike France and Germany, who only have a token ammount out there.
While we have troops out there, lets hope they seriously kick some Taliban arse!!

When someone makes a claim like that I get suspicious............so I looked through half of his 124 posts on this forum. I was amazed to see that he was spot on with what he said. Some had 5, some 10 with one that was edited 40 times. It amazes me what things happen in the human mind.

yeah, I used to be worse - hording stuff - but had a course of CBT.
Its more of a pain in the ass these days, things like checking stuff, or not being able to take the first item on a supermarket shelf (have to grab one from the back lol) and other crap like that LOL
I did CBT too- but all it taught me was the basics of riding a motorbike
I dealt with the OCD alone- whilst keeping it a secret. No one, not even hubby knew I had a problem. If you've got help- it should be even more do-able. Good luck to you. :thumbup:

Sorry to come in on this late in the day (well, it's actually 09:45 CET and I was sober last night - as indeed I am now) but what's with this constant Franco-German bashing about the numbers of troops deployed in other people's conflicts?

The Taliban will never be defeated and "kicking Taliban arse" is turning out to be a very expensive pastime both in financial terms and loss of life, neither of which are affordable.
Better in my view for the resources to be deployed on the home front. Maybe there will be a further benefit in stopping the migrants crossing borders and finding their way to Croydon

You see with Johny, whilst he can be rude I still respect his comments, and he is a good person to discuss with. Yes he can call me a fuckwit...very funny that is too but....I hold no ill thoughts about him at all.
But with Mr Flower he deliberatly goes out of his way to be nasty, certainly towards me. But that is where grudges come in.
This did seem a let's knock the Yanks thread, and from that is where the nastiness started.
Give some people enough Rope and they will surely hang themselves, and I beleive I will still be here, long after he has gone...unless he seriously changes his attitude.
Now I have to get back to work, as my new 65 inch telly has to be paid for.

I have just spent an hour going through the forum posts where you have either slandered me, or been downright abusive. There are a few I can tell you, and that does not include the " snide " remarks either.
I have been here for a long time now and I cannot remember a thread that was " cleaned " where very offensive remarks were made by YOU and deleted. None of mine were taken out so does that not tell you something?....maybe not.
My account remained intact, and nothing I said was construed as offensive by the Mods or Admin themselves. Maybe you think there is a conspiracy here, where I can get away with anything? That is rubbish as well you know.
My original comment to this thread was that it seemed to ME it was just another knock the Yanks thread, which let's be fair you have given that impression on many occasions.

In answer to the question you asked me, yes I did read Kent's original post and see nothing offensive in it. It may have been his usual bombastic style but nothing offensive. What I DID find offensive, was this "He`s just happy to talk up the deployment of our young men in invasions of other countries so they can come back in body bags." That's totally uncalled for and out of order.
I also saw the other post you made "In some cases this is true but there will always be people who call on the authorities when somebody upsets them and they are unable to cope with a little criticism." To anyone that doesn't know the history between you and Kent, this would probably have little significance but it is a deliberate dig at Kent, in fact this sort of post is your speciality...having sly little digs. You did the same to me the first time we crossed swords, quoting from my profile in a totally unrelated thread and adding a little dig at the end. I chose to ignore it.
I hate to disappoint you but Kenty and I do not sit and congratulate each other, nor do I follow Kent's posts in the hope of stirring up trouble, I think you manage that quite well on your own, but I really don't think there is any point me telling you this, as in your sad little world it probably makes you happy to imagine such things. the award makes as much of a mockery of the Peace Prize as some of the posts I have seen in responce to your original question.
If it was awarded politically to send a "message" of support of Obama's actions, the intended audience for that message don't give a hoot in the first place.
Obama does not persue peace. Niether do the United States, and niether do any of our western 'powers'.

We all can have as much to say about the troops being sent, but it won't make a jot of difference.
The Yanks are right to be there as to pull out now would be madness. More troops will hopefully mean the job can be done better and quicker.
At least the Yanks have some balls unlike France and Germany, who only have a token ammount out there.
