we was unable and are still unable to compete in the market for industry
the Unions, thatcher and successive governments have seen to that
add our own envy of others possesions and greed.......you then have your answers
I guess it depends on your perspective. My perspective was from a young man in rural Dorset. When I left school and started work we were subjected to Arther screaming day in and day out on the news, Tv, radio, and papers, inciting anger and violence. Those pictures are still very vivid.
On the other hand we had Margret Thatcher who stood up to him and his thugs, and through her unbending attitude eventually brought him down
As for our current financial state, this was caused by the banks, and the lack of regulation by consecutive governments
He will have to find the annual rent of 34K from some where else
Seem to have wondered into a mutual wanking session by members of the Tories and UKreep. Guess these forums aren't for workers who believe in a fair and just society, and are happy to contribute to that society in whatever way is appropriate .
Scargill at least stood up to that criminal bitch who did so much to hurt common people while helping the rich and super rich attain the positions of power they now wield over us. Hillsborough, the miners strike, selling off council houses and not replacing them, selling off school playing fields, starting the sell off of the NHS and the welfare state, consolidating the power of the sugar industry to wreck our diets, wasting the North Sea oil revenue on tax cuts, causing a war in the Falklands by cutting the protection off the islands in the first place, etc etc.
Glad it's working out ok for all you retired right wingers who feathered their nests at the expense of the rest of society. Rant over, do carry on ......

Ah well............Scargitt has lost in the past and he continues to lose.
Seems he has spent his whole life looking out for number 1 but this time even his own union saw through him
