Oh Staggs I loves you really... wink

and I do like to debate with you because you do the research and I just do the lazy bit of posting just to wind you up.
However (you were expecting that of course) although I live in a Republic (which I respect a lot as you know) there still remains a fascination for a right royal family such as the UK and Commonwealth enjoys.
France (a Republic par excellence) would also love to return to a Monarchy and I'm sure the States would too. But I agree with with you on one very important point; the Monarchy needs to be modernised (republicanised even) if it is to survive.

F*cking love the Royal family and I'm a royalist through and through, don't give a stuff whether others think that's good or bad. I watched the wedding and loved it and as a non political organisation as far as it can be I hold it in higher personal esteem than the bullshit politician spouting bullshit all the time.
The way I got here and the way I live in Britain in the here and now has the Monarchy integral to it just as a Frenchman would realise that their history in the here and now has the French Revolution integral to it. I see no reason to not celebrate Being British with living British heritage as others celebrate their living history.
2 billion people watching the event makes it special,important and unique and WANTED! Brilliant day! :bounce:

I read a comment that GB wasn't invited as he was the w*nker in charge at the Treasury who took the Royal Yacht Britannia off HM and Wills wasn't too keen on TB's condescending attitude after the death of his mother.
