so on your own admission you (or as you say someone else who was attending that social) advertised on another site and because only 5 off the other site turned up you feel no one should advertise on another site to try to get a full room, seems selfish because you failed to attract more there why should we (as organisers of the derby social be penalised) from advertising elsewhere?so we feel the rules are ok as they are.

NO if you read the above I did not advertise my social on another site. Someone else posted it on another site as it was her birthday party and she wanted her friends from other site to know about it. It is something I would not do again.
I do not and would never post my socials on any other site as I get a full house from SH members every time I organize a social. If I wanted members from another site to attend a social I would organize one on that site for members of that site and not members of SH
The Cannock social on 30th Aug has 97 SH members who have confirmed and I'm waiting for another 26 to confirm. The last Cov social 111 attended the last Cannock social 90 attended and the Cov social before them 137 attended, so why would I need to look elsewhere to make up numbers and make the event viable.
I organize a social for members of this site and the members of this site have fully supported me on every social over the past 18 months. I can only assume people keep coming back every time as I give them what they want and expect from a social.
The day people stop attending my socials will be the day I stop organizing them. I wouldn’t carry on by getting people off other sites as I don’t do the socials for me.
If people who organize munches get enough SH members to attend a munch, then so should people who organize SH socials get enough SH members to attend a social.
IMO it doesn't matter who wrote the advert on another site, it was for other site members to join in the birthday party which i have no problem with but you must of authorised such advert surely or perhaps you may of exceeded your fire reg door limit etc? or is this why you never let on in your advert on here other site members may be in attendance at that social? plus i agree with what fabio states your almost saying people in remote areas can't have a biggish social because of lack of S H members in that area?
i think this is geting well out of hand again..and somewhat unfair comments made.
Firstly may I say I think the current rules are adequate...thou the organiser should always make sure that if people from other sites may be in attendance .. that you are aware a banned memeber who you may not wish to meet again, could be there, and you can choose not to attend.
However I do have to say Try2 socials are open to all members from all areas. It is the very nature of the site now, that there are regional chat rooms, so people do find it easier to attend local meets. Its a great way to put names to that does not and never has excluded any other people from other areas...I know that the Cannock Social on saturday will have people from North Wales, Cambridge, Norfolk, and Powys, as well as West and East midlands in attendance... and thats just what I know of. Try2 socials are great events..andthats why they are always over subscribed...He takes the risk of booking and paying for the room..and putting on food..before the numbers are known. He puts alot of hard work in..and I for one would congratulate him on his organisation of these socials. Indeed I take my hat off to all people that are willing to organise meets of any sort.

I am debating the rules of Munches, Socials and private parties. Nothing has got out of hand within this. He stated his opinion...........then on his thread to a social he is organising he goes against his own opinion. I am confused as to what he actually means.
All I have asked for is clarification.........that never came.

was just wondering how some of you guys cope when visiting a swingers club,do you ask at the door before entering show me a list of who's in the building, presumably at a swingers club one goes to get naked and play while a social is just a drink, chat, dance with likeminded people?
hi cock know were you coming from but you still need to be member of said club you cant get in club a if member of club b if that makes sense lol
sorry to disillusion u but if u attend the chams social then you donot require membership for that night only. And yes many do get naked and have a fun time but many remain dressed and socialise. and we got 180 peple requesting to come to the last one so people vote with their feet.
i am gonna put my 2 pence worth in.
I dont care what site people belong to, what i care about is meeting people, making new friends and encompassing people from all walks of life wether they are from this site, another, from the mids room , north west room, billy bongos room or from outer space.
People are people and we shoud stop being so pedantic.
Naturally we all make judgements and we choose who we play with and socialise with. We are all able to say no and do not need to attend any social if we dont like.
So lets stop the bitchin and start smiling and getting on with peole.
