hi guys just out of interest with more and more socials now being advertised on other sites can someone tell us whos rules we are supposed to stick to
or do they not count anymore surely we can get enough
members off this site to fill a venue dw
the thing about socials is that they sometimes dont always stick to 1 venue ... mine for example will be about 4 different venues in the evening.
what rules are differnet on this site for a social than on other sites
hi sara
at least on this site you get to see by way of a list
whos going to the social and it stops banned members turning up and causing friction d w
The rules for socials are sticked at the top of the page and at the request of members, they are kept as simple as possible. The link below probably explains the main social rules better than I can wink
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/65788.html
The main requirement is that if banned or non-members are attending, then you must put this in the opening post, so people can make an informed decision about attending and a full list of attendees should be made available if requested.
Another requirement, and this is for socials, munches, parties, or anything else which is organised via this site, and that is you are not using the site to make money/a profit.

I can't even seem to use the site to make people turn up let alone anything else rolleyes

Maybe the rules need to be changed so all socials posted on SH should only have SH members attending.
Every social I have organized has had to have a reserve list as I get around 150 wanting to attend, so it shows that there are enough people on this site willing to support the social and I don’t see the point of getting people from elsewhere to make the night viable. The whole purpose of a social is for people to meet face to face from chatting in chat rooms / forums etc.
Over the past 18 months, only one of my socials was posted on another site by someone else and about 5 people from that site attended. It is something I would not do again as there is no control over who can walk through the door.
Keep SH socials for SH members and let others organize and attend their own socials from other sites.
well put try was trying to get the same thing over but you worded it better than me
We did used to have a rule that anything organised on here should only be for site members and shouldnt include any banned members. However, at the request of members, this was relaxed to allow organisers to have more control over who was/wasnt invited, so long as they were willing to let everyone attending know that it would not be a SH event.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the rules for socials, it is pretty much we were dammed if we do, and dammed if we dont wink
OOO!! NWC nice new avatar altho I think you may have gone too far with the liposuction wink lol
The rules are just fine as they are IMO.
Some organisers have small socials on here and other sites where their friends are. In the present climate some of our friends have had to leave the site as they could not afford to stay. When they get back on their feet then they will be back...........but until then I think that it is a bit unfair for people not to allow me to ask my friends to come to a social I am organising just because they are having money troubles.
And before anybody says if they can afford a social then they can afford to pay here......then don't. They came and me and Alex paid towards their meal so they could let their hair down. It is what friends do for each other when times are hard. This is not just a sex site...........some of us become real friends.

There is a different between a social which is open to all SH members and a private party which is open to friends of the organizers.
If an event is advertised as a SH social and then the organizer decides only to allow their friends to attend then it becomes a private party and it should be called a private party and not a social.
When you have the same event advertised as a social on 2 or 3 sites it is done so to boost the numbers on the door to make the event financially viable. When you get 30 -40 people attending from other sites it is not friends of the organizers but general members of that site.
A social is NOT for the benefit of the organizer and theirs mates, a social is for members of the site and there are enough people on this site to fill a room for an event without having people from other sites taking their place.
A social is for all members, a private party is for mates and when I have a party I don’t charge my friends an admission fee on the door.
ok in my opinion i think things are getting muddled ... the site already caters for just sh only members parties .. these are called munches .. where you can guarentee that all the members are active and current members of the site . i.e. not banned ... a social is an event that banned and non members i.e. off another site and even vanilla friends may attend .. a private party is a smaller more intimate function again here it is up to the discretion of the organiser who attends ... in both the case of the social and the private party if asked for a list of attendees must be given to another attendee if requested ... a munch a list is posted on the forum for all to see ... ok i hope this came out ok and i hope that i got things right .. if not feel free to comment

but you forget try that there are already social events advertised on SH for SH members only attending...they are called "munches"..... wink

Which is all very good when you live in the more populated areas of the country......however if you live in a not so populated areas and people are spread across many different sites, then it does help to advertised , unless people are going to go back to travelling out of areas which has gone out of fashion

Some have already mentioned the differences in the types of events. There are three main ones.
1) Munch
2) Social
3) Private party
Each one has there own rules.
Munch is just for SH members.
Social is for anybody to attend, subject to the rules set by the organiser and SH in as much as a list is provided of those coming to ensure there is nobody going who the invitees do not want to bump into.
Private party is only those invited by the organiser.
Try2, your comments only apply to 1 & 3 of the above. The socials are a different animal. If you only want SH members then call it a munch.

Or, as the organiser of the social, you could say it was only open to SH members. The rules of the social (in general) are down to the organiser and if they want to limit it, then so be it. However, Munches are ONLY open to ALL members of SH, and you cant pick and choose who you allow on the list.

Spot on Sara.
I'm throughly bemused here though....
I held a social last night, advertised it on four sites, offered free accommodation and had one single male attend (which was one more than came last year)
We had a thoroughly bloody good time (and the pic in my thread for it proves that) but where were these hundreds of people everyone is on about that turn up confused

was just wondering how some of you guys cope when visiting a swingers club,do you ask at the door before entering show me a list of who's in the building, presumably at a swingers club one goes to get naked and play while a social is just a drink, chat, dance with likeminded people?

insularity breeds contempt...now where have i seen that before..
a social has an organiser the organiser makes the rules .. no need for any more rules are there.. as long as people are aware..
if you want more protection from the site call it a munch .

yes but my point is people on here advertise for social meets at a club and non S H members will be in attendance at that club and what i can't get my head round is a social is just that a place to meet likeminded people for a drink, chat etc NOT get naked and play so can't grasp the issue here sorry.

so on your own admission you (or as you say someone else who was attending that social) advertised on another site and because only 5 off the other site turned up you feel no one should advertise on another site to try to get a full room, seems selfish because you failed to attract more there why should we (as organisers of the derby social be penalised) from advertising elsewhere?so we feel the rules are ok as they are.

NO if you read the above I did not advertise my social on another site. Someone else posted it on another site as it was her birthday party and she wanted her friends from other site to know about it. It is something I would not do again.
I do not and would never post my socials on any other site as I get a full house from SH members every time I organize a social. If I wanted members from another site to attend a social I would organize one on that site for members of that site and not members of SH
The Cannock social on 30th Aug has 97 SH members who have confirmed and I'm waiting for another 26 to confirm. The last Cov social 111 attended the last Cannock social 90 attended and the Cov social before them 137 attended, so why would I need to look elsewhere to make up numbers and make the event viable.
I organize a social for members of this site and the members of this site have fully supported me on every social over the past 18 months. I can only assume people keep coming back every time as I give them what they want and expect from a social.
The day people stop attending my socials will be the day I stop organizing them. I wouldn’t carry on by getting people off other sites as I don’t do the socials for me.
If people who organize munches get enough SH members to attend a munch, then so should people who organize SH socials get enough SH members to attend a social.

And you have two people who were members going..............or possibly still are according to your own post.
If you are sure that socials are strictly for SH members, should you not check with admin to ensure that the people you have invited are still members? Wouldn't want you look silly within your own argument would we lol
If SH only people attend and it is open to all SH members then it is a munch. You call events, that you organise, where any SH people can attend, a social. That is where you have the definition wrong. You are organising a munch...........simple. The rules are already there.

do you know what... and good for you, but then again I don't see many people from outside that same "west midlands circle" going outside the little circle and going to socials and supporting them in other places for one reason or another, how many down for bolton, or wigan, or yorkshire, or leeds,.... or the north east, or bristol or surrey..... maybe if they did then people in other areas wouldn't need to have a social inclusive of other sites.... hmmmmm...now there is a thought.....
I know a whole ton of people who use to be here that aren't anymore for one reason or another, way before the multiple chatrooms that there are now, i don't see a problem with it as long as i know who is outside of the site going to these...... if there are people I don't like... I don't go...simple as!!!
so until you support other peoples socials in other areas, I don't think it is really fair that you complain about how others see fit to run theres.........
