A Question for the owners of this site

I notice from the NW Munch thread that a very generous donation was made from the owners to go towards this munch. Does this mean other munches will also be given donations towards the costs of them lol

If not, why not confused

I would like an answer to this too as I have a Munch coming up this Weekend and have the cost of room hire and bouncers...
I would prefer not to ask people to contribute but I have no choice as I can't stand the amount by myself....

I doubt the owners are going to contribute to every munch that is held......
Its just not feasable(I wouldnt have thought anyway)..
When we have been to munches we have no qualms about dipping into our pockets to cover any axpenses incured by the organiser and I have no doubt any munch attendee's will feel the same...

Helen I have asked the question about the mids munch concerning the room hire, I asked my question yesterday but I haven't had an answer rolleyes

I believe admin are only supporting the popular ones, is the mids munch popular Helen dunno

Yeah, I can't honestly see them doing it for all the munches - as much as it would be nice (and probably 'fair'). I can see the phrase "setting a precedent" popping up soon. ;)

I knew this would turn into a ticking timebomb as soon as i read it... so can i propose a solution....
A pm to all the munch organisors from the admin as to the question the fembernie posed...

our opinion is that we will make our own minds up about where we go, whoever is paying.
btw good will isn't worth the paper its written on and socials are arranged on other site's and donating money won't stop it happening

I have no issues with a company making profits but I do think that if its one rule for one its one for all where is Helens 500 quid or marcusos or Bi welsh minx.
if i was of a cynical frame of mind, i can well see how the prospect of being able to Meet real live swingers" at munches could be a rather good selling point for those who have yet to join SH, and who, unlike us, have no clue what SH and munches are all about. they'll certainly be unable to buy the goodwill of existing members, and no, they don't make money for the site, but they're sure as hell good advertising! munches are undoubtably going to be a tad scarcer in the future i think, so yes, i can imagine the site owners hoping for a little quid pro quo on the whole "goodwill" front.
course i'm not that cynical . . . . :?

1. They do generate income from all the New members ...... not us Oldies !!
2. They have made a gesture to donate money to Vicky's munch .... maybe they will donate to others and maybe they wont ...... but even if they only donated to one munch a year ,,,,,,, its a gesture that I think is a nice thing for them to do ........ they didnt need to bother at all ....... did they ?
I would imagine they are sitting reading this ....... shaking their heads ............ because it is truely unbelievable that people are complaining that they are bothering to donate to the cost of a munch !

what is being lost site of a bit here is that the Â£500 was NOT sent for vicky to go on a shopping spree, it was sent for ALL members who were attending.
ie, the community.
vicky is just the person who is administering it.
how is it unfair to any other organiser - what exactly are they losing out on?
why does it matter to the munch organisers if the admin want to buy the community a pint at the nw munch rather than any of the others? its still going to taste the same lol
the only people who have ANY reason to gripe are the members who for no fault of their own can not make the NW munch and so wont benifit.
i for one think it is a bit sad that a nice gesture can not just be taken as that, rather than being examined for alterior motives.
talk about a slap in the face!

i thin the reason the nw munch was picked was BECAUSE it was the biggest.
if you wanted to do somethng nice for the community, then surely it makes sense to do it at the time when the most members will benifit!

Just a couple of points
1. Those of us who use the forums need to understand where we are in the population of the site ......... 402,425 members ......... about 200 - 250 going to the Munches !
2. If we all left tomorrow would it make the slighest bit of difference to the site .... NO !
3. If the site is so bad and the current owners are so bad ........ why bother using it at all ?
I am absolutely totally completely sick of the whinging and moaning that goes on in every post.
If you joined a social club and didnt like the way it was run ......... what would you do ?
You would leave
You wouldnt walk in everyday and tell the Manager how bad it was !
