Get her a Hugh Heffner bedside lamp for Christmas. Waking up and seeing his ugly mug every morning would soon put her off the label!! rotflmao :rotflmao:

As stepmum to an 11 year old who is allowed to wear make up, pretty much what she likes, I dread her coming to see us lately as my 9 yr old has rules governing how she looks etc.
There is no way on this earth my daughter is allowed playboy branded items ... I relented the other night on make up for a party we all went to but only so long as I could put it on her (so subtle you couldn't see it LOL).

I have no children so only my personal view point here, but I don't think it's appropriate for young girls.
One of the young uns from round the corner to us has had her bedroom done out in playboy, it's on the front and she was lucky enough to also get the flashing neon bunny sign for her window .
It looks horrible, cheap and has created several conversations about how inappropriate it looks for a young girl.
I have a bunny watch and a lighter, I often enter into flirty conversation when I have them with me as men notice them and will often comment.
I know most men are far too sensible to make similar comments to young girls dressed up and accessorised in it, but it does feel like another step towards forcing earlier and earlier sexuality on children.
I'll not even start on the costs confused lol

I hope you managed to get the shopping done without oo much trauma. If it's any help, apparently Hello Kitty is really cool at the moment for all ages. As it's just another cute logo, maybe she'd like that as a compromise?
Marketing Playboy at such young girls is awful, closely followed by the new range of T shirts for toddlers with FCUK on the front.
I have an 8 month old daughter and am dreading all this!
Hi Darkfire, my daughter is 14 and has been into playboy bedroom furnishings for a few years now. I have to admit I was shocked to the core when she first asked for it but it is def. a fashion following with the kids and not as much a sexual statement these days. I have friends who 11 yr olds are asking for playboy things this year but have to admit 7 is quite young BUT as its a fashion statement she could well be following a trend.
I would def. not get her clothes, the shoes, boots and 'sexy' tops are not right for a child of that age but you can get some really nice cushions which are just mainly pink with ears on them, lava lamps and lights with just the rabbit heads floating round, you could start there. smile that way you are meeting her both ways.
My daughter is 8 going on 16 confused but she knows the limits (for now rolleyes )
She has a 16 year old cousin who has all the Playboy stuff and she has commented on how "cute" it is, but at the moment she is still into Bratz dolls and cuddly toys so I am safe this Christmas lol
I do have issues with her regarding clothing and make-up sometimes though :? She likes crop tops and I flatly refuse to let her wear one, but I did compromise on a pair of sparkly sandal type things with little heels for her party shoes :? As for make-up I will let her wear a light eyeshadow and even lighter lipstick for discos etc, but only if I get to put them on
I am dreading it when she gets older though sad I can see many, " You're not going out wearing THAT!!" type of comments on the horizon  Luckily her Dad is pretty much the same as me so I know she won't be getting away with things at his house that she can't at mine ;)

I think I need counselling after all this pink
You are all right ... nothing at all wrong with pink .... my son wore it all the time when he was growing up .. damn hand me downs.
Just to drift off the topic slightly for a minute ... about paying to advertise a product. One of my pet hates are those supermarkets who make you pay for carrier bags with their logo all over them. If they make me pay for a bag cos im too stupid to remember to take my own then I want a plain logo less 1 ... but turning them inside out normally wrecks their ploy evil

Its not just shop or the media has anyone seen these under 18 night club night :eeek:
they wear less then the over 18 and the parents drop them off wearing this stuff its scary especially when your greeted with a girl who looks twelve and is wearing a see through dress, and have her underwear on show redface
Well for my pennies worth I don't personally see any harm, there is porn and there is porn not sure playboy has ever been seen as hardcore or anything like. Its a brand just like many others, even the sexier side seems to be tastful and seen as the upper end of that market.....
Our daughter is 23 and still loves it as much today as she did 10 years ago, fluffy bags to perfume... Not done her any harm.
Personally I think stopping something causes far more curiosity in cases like this........
Each persons choice at the end of the day
