Flower thats a good question and to be honest I find most of what you say familiar with myself. I don't think it's girly i think it is just characteristics. I often like yourself wonder whether womem prefer the more, lets say the stereotypical man?
Initially, i think most people are attracted to the outward persona, though most people i'm sure, get past the skin quickly and look for more. However there are of course shaloow people who never do (IMHO)
Flower I don't think you are girlie I think you are just in tune with your femininity and you are prob. shadowing how you were brought up perhaps?
Jay loves the banter of my pals being round, loves cooking, doesn't mind coming shoppin with me, he doesn't get off on strippers and lap dance clubs and wouldn't wolf whistle to anyone. However, he's as masculine as you can get, footie mad, loves a beer (and wine), loves his cars and quite often tries the rear entry! lol
You have nothing to worry about

I have always prefered the company of women in social situations.
I don`t like football, rugby, motor racing, darts or any of the traditional male passtimes.
I enjoy shopping redface
I don`t think farting loudly in public is particularly funny !! rolleyes
I never wolf whistle when I see a woman walking past ( despite the fact that mrs f see`s this as a compliment ) I think it`s rude !!
My car is a tool for work and a means of getting from A to B. I don`t care what colour it is or how fast it goes  (actually ...I do care about the colour...I don`t know what came over me there !! )
I love cooking lol
I am aware that in social situations I am perceived as being a little weird by some men, but women don`t seem to have a problem.
...
So .... do women find "girly" heterosexual men more attractive or do you take each one as they come ?

I cook and shop to live, apart from that snap. The answer to your question is some do, but I object to the term 'girly', I like curtius.

I always take each one as they come wink
I always find that men that are more in tune with their feminine side are always good for a giggle. Therefore they make me feel really comfortable.
I tend to get a lot more nervy around the more macho type men. Why dunno

This came up the other day- and I wondered if I gravitate naturally towards guys who are, erm, let me start that again.
I think there is a "type" of bloke who is "outwardly macho." Then theres a type of guy who is happy to just be himself, irrespective of what "society" expects him to be. This is the type of bloke I find myself attracted to.
Example, up on deck the other day I was with Mr W, and my "lover" who is a full time crew member- they were yakking about their shared love of skiing. There were a few new young lads on board who tried to engage us in the conversation they were having about footie. We three looked at eachother & shrugged- and I responded that they were speaking to the three people least interested in footie in the western world. The young lads were really taken aback!
There seems to be an assumption that in order to be a "real man" you have to engage in certain arse scratching activities. I say stuff the footie- it leaves more time to shag!
I like Football Don't like Ruby or Motor Racing....
A car get's me from A to B I'm defo not a petrol head wink
hubby loves motor racing, his cars are not just from geting from A to B, but hates football

Good question ill answer in a sec but just a bit of a goose bio update lol
I live with my folks and since Mom passed away 4 mnths ago i have started to do all this myself and aside from cooking (had a few probs there :lolsmile i quite enjoy doing the home stuff like shopping and cleaning and keeping the place shipshape.
I don't think it's girly tho for me its needs must and i realised how much she really did.
I also like footy, rugby, motor racing, greyhound racing ect well most sport its the most watched tv genre house now.
I do laugh at loud farts but try not to do them
I like nice cars but cant afford them sad
I digress
In answer to your question tho i think things have changed a lot since the 50's and not only do we have "new man" but also "new woman" and not only is what they do different but what they like and dislike has changed too.
I always thought that one of the advantages of being a man was that we had the opportunity to do everything except have babies? When could women walk around topless? biggrin
Women have always been restricted in the way they are allowed to conduct their lives - isn't that what the sexual revolution was about?
It works both ways!
Enjoy what you can or have the opportunity to do before it disappears?
On a different note; have you noticed that some of the most pleasant young lady seem to pair pair up with some of the nastiest guys.
I think the key word is young. I have noticed many guys up in court with a very respectable lass in tow. A young lady who could have her pick, chooses a guy who spends so much of his time in court or trying to avoid court.
Is this a case of opposite attracts?

I think it's the "bad boy" syndrome.
I, personally could never spend too long with a guy who is safe & reliable to the extent where they're dull. I get bored very easily. I couldn't be with an utter f*ckwit who laid into me ( ) or thought it was big & clever to get drunk etc etc.
I just like fellas who have a bit of an edge. A guy who would let me walk all over him is a no-no im afraid.
Hats off to Mr W, who has kept me on my toes for a mammoth 18 ( ) years! Oh, and then theres my "Master Gunner"....you don't argue too hard with the guy with the black powder!

Oh, and then theres my "Master Gunner"....you don't argue too hard with the guy with the black powder!A guy can have an edge without steeling and kicking in bus shelters. In fact some would call me a loon, but I still respect others, and it has been a good while since I was drunk. Drunk beyond reason anyway.
Thats what I was trying to get at T. I've nothing against people being a little "merry"- in fact I have been known to be so myself, occasionally redface
I can understand women who want to be with a guy who has an "edge", I just can't get my head round how anyone could want to be with someone who thinks a saturday night brawl etc is the best way to prove their manhood. dunno
There's a lot of talk about men being in touch with their feminine side but whay about women who are in touch with their masculine side. No I don't mean shagging other women. I mean doing odd jobs around the house. Putting up shelves. Maintaining cars.
I find a self reliant woman far more attractive than a 'girly' "I couldn't possibly do that as I'm only a silly likkle girl" woman.
I can read a map (without turning it round to face the direction i'm driving) I know how a car works, I do my own domestic repairs, the jammed photocopier at work holds no fears for me.
My ex did nothing for me and if I needed something doing I had to do it - sinmple as that. Anyway, I would far rather do things myself than have to ask anyone else to do it - does anyone else feel the same?
(The other side of me)I have no idea what an eylash curler looks like (although it sounds terrifying) and I buy clothes because I need to replace worn out ones. My makeup - all 4 items - comes from Body Shop and I look daft in girly clothes.
I wish I was more feminine!!!!!!!! But then if I had to give up being independent to do it then I'll stay as I am.

That's what I was getting at. W say she feels safe out with me, but I do not look for trouble. So if you see a tall guy in the corner, laid back and confident, that's me.

Ere Stormy, you're a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!! rotflmao
No Flower you're ok hun. Speaking personally I would far rather have a man that I could relate to in conversation and that understands me, than someone who has a bulging 6 pack and not an ounce of sensitivity.

I agree, I am fiercely independant, lately I've had problems with my hands and I've had to rely on Jay to mow the lawn and I hate it absolutely hate having to ask anyone for help. I more or less run the home and control the finances as Jay works more hours than I do, we share the cooking (only fair! lol ). I enjoy being married but don't depend on Jay to survive, I've seen what that can do to a marriage and it ain't nice
Flower's a girly, Flower's a girly! lol
Just kidding honey - you are what you are and I'd choose a bloke like you over a macho blokey bloke any day of the week.
Apparently my independance is off putting to men even dek rolleyes
As far as chores go i do all the diy in the house and because he works away so much, *needing* him when hes home isnt real easy i usually have to stop and think let him in or let him do that. It becomes easy to carry on the same way i behave when hes away
He has longer nails than me to
