Go on then ya nosy bugger, ask away.

I may already have my answer in the comments on this thread!
OK - it is about this:

An Ex is an Ex for a reason !!!

Questions first, then long-winded Kat meanderings.
Does the trauma of splitting do anything to make crap ex-partners turn into better partners?
Does anyone look at their ex with their current partner and think things like 'If you had been like that when we were together, we could have saved ourselves a whole world of shit?'
I ask because I married Kit very young (19) and we also had our kids quickly - Father of four by the time I was 26. - and blah blah blah Cut a long story short, I was a bit of a shit and there were many times when we could have separated.
Kit and I never really spoke openly about this time until about 5 years ago, but talking about it, realising how difficult it was, how close to disaster we lived, was the thing that finally made us realise what we had, changed both of us, gave us confidence in each other and our relationship that ultimately led us here.
I suppose what I am saying is, if Kit and I had separated when things were toughest, one or both of us could have ended up on this string saying "My fucking ex is a right bitch/bastard and I am glad to be shot of her/him" - never knowing what we had missed out on! confused

The way I see it is that although you were on the brink of disaster because of your actions, deep down you still loved each other dearly as people?
Me and my ex were also on the brink of disaster, unlike you tho, we did pull each other up on it all - neither of us changed confused

I suppose that both of seeing each other refusing to change made us both think that if we couldn't even do that for each other, we didn't love each other enough. If we didn't love each other enough, why spend the rest of our lives together when there is a chance of happiness for us both elsewhere.
I suppose the difference is that although you went through a real bad patch, underneath it all, you both still loved each other. We also fell out of love, it was too much for both of us and we weren't strong enough to work through it.
And yes, my ex is a right git lol mad

Now we have split, we both still see the traits that we didn't like in each other - instead of living with it now, although we both get on 'ok' (sometimes), we both let each others traits annoy us both to the point of fuming mad

As with getting back with an ex - well done that too confused

Personally it was a terrible idea. After the initial split, I used to see him out and about. Eventually we started talking and got on really well. A couple of months later we were a couple again, moved in together presuming it was happy ever after ............... I couldn't believe how I had forgotten how bad tempered he was, how violent he got if something didn't go his way when he was pissed, what a coward he was literally running away from guys that he had run ins with and they questioned him. His words "I would rather be a live coward than a dead hero" - bit ironic really as he was knocking ten bales of shit out of me while saying those words confused

Of course some people do manage to work things out beautifully with their exes and they live happily ever after............
God, analysing myself now lol. I suppose that I tend to build stuff up, I don't like arguing or fighting. Although I do say when things bother me, I can't be bothered to row about it. Eventually tho, if there is a huge build up of things, I have enough and snap - once I do that there's no going back. At snapping point, I don't like the person anymore, want them out of my life with minimum fuss possible, I don't want to talk about it to see if it can be worked out - I just want out.................. there, that's my bad trait, one that is difficult to live with too confused

if an ex does something that pisses you off enough to have the arse with them

I wish my ex would show more of an interest in out son instead of just having him for a couple of hours once every 3 months.
And may I say those are lovely tits wink

i can sympathise with you my ex says im a crap dad i have the kids with me and she doesnt even see them ex partners what right do they have?

27 Apr 2005

If your ex is being a tosser then he's obviously immature or realises that he's thrown away a chance to be with a wonderful woman, with great tits biggrin

I still get on with my ex, although she says I still annoy the hell out of her confused

27 Apr 2005

Ex partners exist as a punnishment to all who had a life in the past. Their whole being is to prevent us having a life in the present and future. They are best ignored, if they can't see the hurt they are causing they simply disapear.
