Still reckon my method of measurement is best :rascal:
I think the only thing you can do is try a few different sizes on and see which one fits best. The band is supposed to be straight, ie parallel to the floor, not lifted at the back, the straps should have no more than an inch give in the and the bit in the cleavage should fit against your rib cage. A lot depends on the manufacturer, you can try 10 different bras on, all the same size, theoretically and only one will fit properly. I think they use the same amount of leaway as they do in dress sizes which differ enormously from shop to shop.

Take a look at this.....
a downloadable "bra book"
Once upon a time I was a 34 a...... what happened and why when I lose weight do I look like jessica Rabbit!
Ok, at the mo I wear a 34/36 D
If I go by that measurement, and measure around my chest I come up with 34- perfect- but why the hell do you have to add on 4 inches to that measurement?
38?!?!?!?!
It makes my bra size a 38 E!!!!!!! There is no way!
I'm going to find another site!.......

Just looked at your pics. There is no way you are a 40! You are very slim - 32 or 34 at most. There was a lady from Rigby and Peller on telly the other day and she could tell a lady's bra size by just looking at her.
Mrs Cream i would go into a shop and get measured and try bras on. No way are u a 40 across ur back. U are miles smaller than me.
I was measured a few weeks ago at Sadies as a 40FF. Last mon night i went to the Metro Centre to buy a new bra to find the shop doesnt do FFs so i had to get remeasured again taking me up to a 40G.
I spend another hour with the assistant trying to find a bra that fitted correctly. Push up, padded, tshirt, u name i tried it. They were to big on the cups, too small, too tight, too loose and they were all the same size.
I dont think u can ever get a true size untill u try bras on and find 1 that suits u and feels comfortable. Dont go buy a chart.
Try before u buy!
