I don't get spooked by horror films but did find Blair Witch a bit
I think the Japanese have made some decent horrors recently, although they're starting to suffer from genre regurgitation a little, shame hollywood keeps remaking them but not quite as well
I lied.
Brother Bear.

Indeed, this was the first film Fire and I ever went to see..ok,it was with my mum and dad. Scary as hell for the time and still holds up well today. I remember the cinema being absolutely silent as well all filed out at the end, I think everyone was in shock.

Not the film, the person.....
I think "The Grudge" 1 and 2 have to be by far the best I've seen in a while.
Stormy, not a lover of clowns..feck all to do with Steven King by the way, I just don't rate him at all.

 What?
First horror film I saw was The Exocist
I was about 12 ish and my brother rented it out on video, he had a load of mates round and charged them 50p each.
This was a saturday morning and parents out, I was watching sat morning tv upstairs, when he walks in saying I'm taking tv and video downstairs so tough.
As you can imagine I was not best pleased with this as no warning was given and he never even asked. Argument ensues I lose so lock myself in my bedroom, unbeknown to him I picked up the video and took it with him :haha:
When his mates all arrive and he realises he has no tape he loses the plot a bit, after not getting it open with his foot it goes all quite whilst he goes to the garage to get an axe
Yes I had 3 very large dents in my door, before I gave in and gave him the tape, all his mates where pissing themseleves with laughter and thought I was great to stand up to him. rotflmao
We all then watched the film, although it did take me 3 attemps to see it fully. Not actually sure what was scarier, dont tend to watch them these days as they are rather predictable.
Why does someone not shoot a horror clip on the video on here lol
I love the old black and white films
Night of the demon
Quatermass and the pit
Recently walking through some woods late at night I couldn't help thinking of Dog Soldiers Hooowwwwwwll

Did you know the monster was added on in post production. The producers couldn't understand how you could make a horror film without a monster. They of course failed to understand the themes of psychological fear in the film. sad

yeah the film would have been just as scary without the demon in moving mist, the sounds, just the overall creepiness gave the film the right atmosphere!...its what you don't see that makes it more effective!
I'll put that one on my must watch list.
If it fails to scare me.....I'll be after you allllll
I haven't seen any of the latest horror films like Saw or Hostel etc. The classic zombie movies, Halloween, Evil Dead etc are fine for me lol.
I once scared the crap outta Morbius by sneaking outside and banging on the window during Halloween once  He's refused to watch anything scary since :giggle:
Oh and then there was the time I went to be early and pretended to be asleep when he got into bed, I put my hand on his face and went muhahahahaha very loudly and you know he never saw the funny side!!!!!! rolleyes

You're almost as bad as me! Eldest was walking back to her bedroom in pitch darkness at about 1 am. We'd just watched "the Ring"
I made the phone in the kitchen ring just as she passed it. :evil2:

Scared the shit out of me when I first saw it. confused

My God...I sneaked in and saw that film when I was 15.
It was the scariest film ever made at the time. Even now 30 odd years on and its still a scary film.
For me the best horror film ever made.
must admit i don't get phased by horror films dunno
but it took me years to watch chitty chitty bang bang cos the childcatcher scared me so much as a kid :eeek: especially as my dad told me that the driver of the coachtrip we went on with his works was that man (he was the absolute double of him) i have never sat so still on a trip before in my life. my mum gave him some stick for that smackbottom i was in my twenties before i watched it again and it still gave chills :giggle:
Heres Johny :scared:
One i was subjected too bolt
I thought it was really really scary to infact i hid behind the dog for most of it
Hmmm, Legend of hell house, Wickerman (original), Exorcist of course, The devil rides out, To the devil a daughter, Twins of evil, IT. All classics in my view.
The birds???
Watched all of 10 minutes of it years ago :scared :scared:
Definitely the already mentioned ones: Quatermass, Night of the Demon, Exorcist, Halloween, The Grudge, The Ring, The Thing (both versions), the brilliant original version of The Haunting and Evil Dead 1 & 2.
I also like the original version of The Fog, Them and a modern horror Japanese classic The Audition.

The original B/W version of The Haunting.
