On second thoughts... it seems they've almost thought of everything! :giggle:

I can say these are good fun - I have an I-vibe, (you can get an i-vibe 2 for you and your partner)which definately makes your mp3 player far more useful and your commute potentially less boring.
The iPod Shuffle arrived today and Mrs C already has three albums downloaded to it.
I can't believe how bluddy small the thing is!
I'm just waiting for the day she leaves it in a pocket and puts it in the wash!
Thanks All for the quality advice.

i have a 30gb ipod....be nice to fill it up....i only 3500 songs on there!

"My Music" folder currently stands at a shade over 40Gigs and I know of a couple of folks that make mine look like a very small thing.

Right all you iPod geeks... HELP!
I bought an iPod ages ago and used my mum's G4 Notebook to copy all my CD's and fired them onto my iPod. Happy days. She decided to delete the library for some reason so all my CD's are gone.
I downloaded iTunes onto my own laptop thinking I'd add all my new CD's onto my iPod... only my iPod has other ideas! It comes up with the option for updating shaded and the only option left is to restore. I don't want to have to put all my old CD's back on... is there any way round this?
I've already set it to manually update but that doesn't make any difference... any suggestions?
Cheers

Not too sure about this one, but IIRC the iPod ties itself to the PC/laptop you use to stop you sharing music between PCs, ie copying your Wombles cd onto your iPod, nipping round to your mates and trying to copy it onto their computer. ;)
So basically I'm gonna have to burn all my CD's again... and restore the iPod and start again?! sad
Surely that's a fundamental flaw in the system! evil

It's poo! 2500 songs to do all over again?! :(
Mind you... there's some serious shite on my iPod so perhaps it's time to be a bit more selective! confused
i've not had much experience with Ipods, but i'm sure they can play 'normal' mp3's, so just turn all your cd's into standard mp3's and drag them across onto the Ipod, should avoid the DRM issue which i think is caused by Itunes biggrin

"00Meaty" is correct ipods can play mp3 files, I know, my son has legally downloaded enough of them rolleyes Best I check my bank balance, what with iTunes and iTopUp and i this and i that :giggle:
Whereas all the materialistic kids (ie me) dont download....we buy the albums....having 200 odd cds can be a bit expensive

Can be just as expensive per tune and less hassle storage wise, downloads onto PC and then onto iPod and then a backup onto external drive and I don't have to fight my way through a mountain of CD's and such like like I do with PSP and PS2 and PS3, Xbox and DS!! Noo I don't spoil my son, but I am from a huge and I mean huge family and so even Easter is like a mega Xmas present despite my stern requests that they do not buy him such things. I compromise in the end and he "earns" part of the present by doing good works, doing well at scouts, school etc. Gameswise he earns them too by the same token. Music for his iPod is earned via homework points and I can't fault him hence the need to check my bank balance lol
Drew, does that mean that between all the bottles to conjour up cocktails and your CDs that you canne move in your room? :D :giggle:
yes because all my dvds, cds and games are in alphabetical order.....its not sad its called orderrrr!
And your son has a ps3, grrr, i'm trying to stop myself buying one.

OMG my collection of everything is sooo not in alphabetical nor any order whatsoever lol. I guess that is because doing what I do career wise I have to be so organised so I let myself have freedom from restriction and order at home dunno
yes my boy has a PS3, why are you stopping yourself from getting one? I hope it's because at the end of the day it is so not so different from PS2 in so far as I can see but then again I am a mum and I know nowt :lol2:
yes you know nothing :giggle:..... and seeing as its £500 to buy it with decent games i think its best i dont buy it since i wont cut down on how much i spend normally to make up for it!
