The search button is not my friend, its a bag of spanners...
Was listening to some tunes today on my ipod, and it occurred to me that I'm a real fan of interesting cover versions of songs. There was a thread recently about Rocky Horror being remade and pretty much everyone said the remake couldn't be better than the original....
I think my favourite, and this might be sacrilege to some, is Johnny Cash's version of One by U2
Some other fantastic (imo) covers are:
Stone Cold Crazy (Queen) by Metallica
House of the Rising Sun (The Animals) by Idris Muhammad
Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin) by Dread Zeppelin
So I was wondering if anyone prefers some cover versions to the originals?
I prefer the version of This town aint big enough by the Darkness as opposedd to the original.
American Pie, Madonna
bolt
Wishing on a star............Paul Weller
The first person to choose "Scissors Sisters: Comfortably Numb" will mean that I have to go out, buy a 12 bore and insert it in that person's rectum. No lube, no flowers and no meal! evil

Pink Floyd themselves did a cod reggae version of "Money" (Guy Pratt on bass) on "Delicate Sound of Thunder". It took a bit of getting used to but I rather like it now biggrin

They grouper'ed around to buy tickets, but couldn't grasp the scale of what they were about to sea. They thought they were going to see a Keith Floyd cookout.

fieds of gold,eva cassidy,beautiful
Nirvana's cover of "The Man Who Sold The World" (David Bowie)
Johnny Cash's Cover of "Hurt" (NIN)
The Video for this always makes me sad as it kind of acted as Johnny's Epitaph. He knew he was soon to die when he shot it. It featured Johnny and his wife. He died within the year and his wifes death predated his by four months.
Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah" (Leonard Cohen)

Amy Winehouse's version of 'Will you still love me tomorrow' by the shirelles
What about Eat it? Weird Al Jankowitz's version of Michael Jackson's Beat It.
Hilarious!
