Declining the offer

what bothers me is..........
................. i go to all the effort of thinking up the nicest and politest way to say no, and then in return get
"you dirty slag, i only wanted to shag you cos i felt sorry for you!"

My attitude when i meet people is that its great to meet people from all walks of life & chat openly. If we end up having fun great & if not then i had a pleasant time.
Not all think like this & some feel that if they meet you then it's expected that you will them.
one person in question i had chatted to for a while & finally agreed to meet for a social. Came across at the start of the meet just like on here but when i politely i said no thank you.
I got called a ,dirty sl.t & few other things beside needless to say my drink went flying over the person & they had to go back to their office all wet & smelly lol

I used to be a doorman and one of the best ways of sussing someone I was not too sure of was to say, "Sorry, not tonight" and see what happened. It quickly separated the, "OK Mate" from the abusive, and I still had time to change my mind, and I often did.
Just wondered if it ever worked like that.

Hell yes - and sometimes, sorry not tonightmeans exactly that. Its interesting to see if someone's interested enough to come back a 2nd time, and who isnt.

ok but it's the closest I could find to putting your hand up.
I've kind of side stepped this issue a little, I've stated in my ad that if I'm not interested I wont reply, I don't know if that's a cop out but when I first joined I would reply to pms saying no but being quite polite and pleasant about it, so a lot of the time I think people thought was in two minds and tried again.
I don't think it's changed how I act in person, I don't go to clubs so it's very rarely an issue anyway.

had an experience the other day in a dogging site . where a guy tried to pull me and politely said no thanks.. he asked again .... another no thanks ... he asked again and i said ...to be honest i got an headache ...... now where i heard that before lol i coulnt believe i come out with such a silly way of saying no... best of it was, rolleyes

he stopped asking after lol

I'd much rather someone was straight up with me and said No Thanks without them feeling awkward about it, even if it was someone I'd be chatting to for a while. That way I wouldn't keep making a complete arse of myself by pursuing someone who's not interested.
