Hello everybody peeps,
Why do I keep seeing deleted ads for breaking site contact rules? Surely after paying the site owners good moneyto become a member there should not be any rules about making contact with potential friends/partners/etc? Or am I missing the point? confused:
Steve,
Stuck in boredom land, Derbyshire.
Err yes..............
Ad's can be deleted for breaking the sites AUP which all members have to adhere to. For more information click here

Just ever so slightly rolleyes
After paying good money for a driving licence, and good money for beer; there are still rules to obey.
After paying good money to enter a football ground, there are rules . . . . . . .
After paying good money for a 'plane ticket, there are rules . . . . . .
wink
Well it was bound to get asked eventually wasn't it?

Well then lesion here is read the rules before you sign on the dotted line. That way you won’t be disappointed.
Aaah, but breaking the rules is very important, in fact it is your civic duty to break rules...it keeps policemen and Mods in a job, if we all obeyed the rules, we would not need the Police Farce or Mods!

Then thank your lucky stars I haven't reached the 'S' section yet. I'm coming your way soon!

Don't forget that most of the people who place ads are 'non-members' and many of them try to find ways to make contacts without stumping up the joining fee. I'm guessing that it's those people who make up the bulk on the deleted ads brigade. I'm sure a Mod will confirm or deny that assumption.

This Mod gets fed up to the back teeth with people who join this site (whether paying or free) and then decide that the rules they have signed up to and agreed to adhere to are not what they want to do. I just don't understand it - if you don't like the rules then don't join!
As for the posting of email addresses, telephone numbers and any other contact details there is no way that we can tell that these numbers belong to the people posting them. In the past we had SERIOUS problems with revengeful people(of both genders) trying to use this site to cause severe trouble for their ex-partners, unliked work colleagues, next door neighbours etc. Mark had to stop this from happening and thankfully the safety issue has been maintained since last year.
I don't know how often we delete contact details from ads but it's persistent offenders who get either the deactivation mode or the modifiying of their ad - even if it says 'not a full member so disguise your email address to contact me'. A bunch of TTTTs some of them!
Oh, and the people who post in Women seeking Men as a couple... can't they read? Don't they care?? Why bother???
:P

Or the couples that post in women seeking women adverts and write things "NO SINGLE MEN - CANT YOU READ?" Cant' you read??? You're in the wrong section ffs! cool
I don't wish to sound petty, but I am a paying member of this site, and if a 'free' member uses the adverts and tries to break the rules and contact other people by 'hiding' their contact details on their profile/picture/advert - I report them ASAP!! The swines!

So if a paying member hides something in their ad - as some do, so free members can contact them - you don't report those? dunno lol

smackbottom :rascal:
Of course I do! It just seems that it's mainly the 'new' free members that can only use the advert section that are the culprits more often than not.
I'm a right jobsworth. If I can manage no to break the rules, then why is it so difficult for anyone else to adhere to them? (And if I do break a rule by mistake then I expect to be told/punished etc.)
