I put up my cabinet and the 6ft square monster single handedly. I'm very proud to say I can put up all my own shelves, wire plugs and complete joinery tasks that need doing.

Well Ladies I'm good at DIY but not papering I'm afraid ( still traumatised by my attempts as a teen ) and I'm up for helping. I have a different problem though, as a single dad I'm spending most of my time cooking, changing nappies etc, while my tools ( and tool ) gather dust in the garage next to my bike :cry: If you're near enough give me a shout I consider a Cuppa and adult ( as in not kid stuff ) conversation adequate compensation.

Hiya, can I sugest you coat the walls with a thin solution of PVA (builders glue) glue before trying to wallpaper. Its saves the paper drying out too quick.
If you ever need an electrician, I would love to light up you lovelife LOL

Despite the fact that im not too bad at DIY, Mr W hates letting me near it.
So needless to say Im a dab hand at manipulating the situation- if theres something he's been putting off doing for weeks/months/years, I simply say "right. wheres the drill/saw etc- Im gonna do it myself". He goes white & gets it done in minutes biggrin

Mind you, when he was away for a week recently the kitchen door handle (which had been playing up for ages-he shouldve done it sooner!) completely gave up on us.
There was no way it was letting anyone through. I took off the handles & had a fiddle- no joy.
Obviously I couldn't get to the hinges. I was contemplating getting the ripsaw out & cutting a person shaped hole through it lol

......when it came to me...
Kick the feckin thing in! All these martial arts lessons must be good for something apart from toning your legs & bum.
So I did! Needless to say, he's taking the p**s still about me destroying the house!

wobbly bed problem solved.......i bought a new one! its a divan so no problems with me having to build it and getting it wrong...i also upgraded to king size and spent a fortune on new bedding...i cant wait to get into bed next monday night!
i wonder how long this one will last me....... redface
