She was offered the flucking things back but donated them to the club as mascots (probably because her house is uninhabitable and will be for quite some time).

Well what I meant was, surely the poor kid would have been horrified at the thought of losing her precious pet for good.. only toi feel enormous joy at it being found by the football club, for them to then put undue pressure (probably big burly scary blokes) on her to 'agree' to let them keep it.
