We've just been listening to the Ultimate 100 feel good songs on one of the Sky Music channels and it reminded me of when I used to car share on the way to work.
More often than not we'd get stuck in traffic driving home on a Friday and used to get the "Friday feel good factor" CD out.
This was a CD we'd compiled of our favourite feel good tunes to play on the way home to turn the journey from hell into a prelude to our Friday night out.
From what I can remember it included:
Don't stop me now - Queen
Tiger Feet - Mud
Groove is in the heart - Dee-lite
Edge of Heaven - Wham
So what songs really give you that "Feel Good Factor"?
Tiesto's Adagio for strings always gets me going
Shiny happy people - rem
hootie and the blowfish - hold my hand
Pendulum - slam
OOOoo I could go on......and on........and on

Someone did flatter me a while ago when she said that the prepping and cooking part of being "entertained" here added a great deal to the whole experience redface

now hides in shame

To be replaced of course by the "On the way to a Munch" Cd and then, the somewhat quieter, more sedate "Coming home after a Munch" Cd wink
Then there's the "Cooking the bbq" Cd.
Closely followed by the "Relaxing after eating" Cd
And ultimately, the "Shag on the patio" Cd
Ultrabeat - Feeling fine biggrin
I'm trying to put to gether a compilation at the moment of "happy" tracks so this thread should give me a few ideas

Just need to make a slight correction here:

A song I've always felt good after listening to, is 'Walking on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves. That never fails to get my head nodding and my feet tapping!
Also have to mention 'Ready to Go' by Republica (currently being used on the Halfords ad). Not sure if it qualifies as a feel good song, but it's a good song to get you all pumped up!
Lot's of good tunes so far but for me it would have to be almost anything from ELO (Mr Blue Sky at the top of the list). Mind you, one which has got me singing along lately is .
It brings back many memories of when I was a punk rocker and when I actually had hair
Queen - You're My Best Friend biggrin
Mine are...............
The libertines, Can't stand me now.........just one line in this song means the world to me and it always get's turned up on the opening chords of the intro.
Dire Straits, Walk of Life and Money for nothing the heavy guitar work gets me every time
Anything by Oasis (of course) but my fave put a smile on my face turn it up load ones are, acquiesce and step out........ to really apriciate their music you need to hear it live as it takes on a whole differant sound and they fire these 2 songs out every time .
The levelers, one way....... or even anything off the Headlights, white lines and black tar rivers album.
Rolling Stones, Paint it black
Not a well known one this but its a fave of mine as it just reminds me of a great time in my life.............Space, you and me versus the world.
What feel good compilation or for that fact any compilation could not include Primal Scream and Rocks.............guarenteed to bring a smile to my face every time.
Last (for now) In this summer heat I have to chuck in a bit of cheese that is Will Smith and summer time don't care if it's your thing or not it just oozes that summer feel good feeling smile
I have different sonmgs for different moods - and god do I have a multitude of moods rolleyes
But I suppose the one song that always puts a smile on my face is John Cougar Mellencamp - Cherry Bomb
As an aside, I also have a driving song for when I am tanking round the country lanes
Al DiMeola - Race with Devil on Spanish Highway biggrin
I got so many but if I had to narrow it down I would say;
Sweet child of mine – Gun’s N Roses
I’ll be missing you – Puff Daddy
Atomic -Blondie
O and Dancing queen – Abba smile
the rustling of my wage packet opening rolleyes
I'm with Sheddy, Libertines are great, and the Levellers have many memories that can't help but make me smile but it has to be Just the One, for me.
Queen - We are the Champions
Any thing by Greenday, foo fighters etc (bit of energy music)
I put on Kubb's 'Mother' cd when I want a boost of energy or one of my trance cds. Great for doing the housework too

Have you ever heard 'Listen Up' ??? I think it should have been released as a single. Its a simple song with not a lot to it but the lyrics are ace.
If I really want to blast the music up and let rip (no comment here Dawnie), for me, it has to be
Achilles Last Stand - Led Zeppelin

There's a song...not sure of the full title or band...but it goes 'Come on and see me...make me smile..."..70's song I think.. lol
Its come up and see me by Steve Harley Cockney Rebel
