Now you know Mr Writer that I am a great fan of iPod - even written a review of it on Amazon the other day cos there was some whinging about not being able to transfer music back to PC (which isn't true) and so on. It won't show for 5 days but I hope they get it on.
My iPod is FAB so enjoy yours when you get it.
Remember our deal though??? wink wink
My review is online at Amazon!

If I had read the reviews before getting my 40Gb iPod I wouldn't have one now.
There is a very simple way to change the track info - just select a track (OR a range of tracks by multiple clicking) and then right click with mouse - get info - and then write. If you need to enter the same info for all the tracks then just enter it once and it DOES change.
It is also possible to change the time interval between tracks, lose long boring intros and so on - can't quite remembe where but please do rumage around the controls (could be the same place as the 'get info' thing!)
There is also a way of moving music back to the PC - I found the answer in the 'Secrets of the iPod' book. In ''my comp' go to 'tools', 'folder options', 'view', 'show hidden files and folders. This will show a hidden file called 'iPod control', click on this is there is another folder called 'music' which shows up all the tracks (in a seemingly random order which is the downside) in multiple folders. BINGO!
My only gripe is the lack of a stop button (oh, and the shocking manual), but I can live with pressing the pause button for a short while. It's beautiful, it's brilliant and it's small.
Not bad for a girlie, eh???
Cheers Jags!
Despite me being a little tipsy as I type this, I'll remember that tomorrow as I take my birtday money over to PC World so I can buy my very own iPod!
G'night all!
I'm head over heels in love with my Archos AV340. It's the next step in the evolution of the mp3 player - nice big hard drive, nice big colour screen, and it can record video.
There's something wrong with being able to carry my entire CD collection in my pocket, with enough room left for a dozen or more movies. Technology, eh? Five years from now I'll be wondering how I tolerated such a frustratingly limited device.
John
You are certainly more 'up' on these matters than I will EVER be but I just love the design of the iPod, it's a beauty thing for me. From the box to the bits...
Tell you what, if you show me yours I'll show you mine!!! lol lol

DJohn, think you've pulled mate! I wonder how Jags likes her bacon and eggs?
biggrin

I'm with Jags on this one. I'm buying an iPod purely for the design aspect. It's not just an mp3 player - it's a lifestyle choice.
OK - What IS an iPod?
<---having a blonde moment here
It's a device that can hold up to 5000 mp3 tracks. Not really special in that respect but they're about the size of a cigarette packet and they're absolutely GORGEOUS. In much the same way as you, actually.
What a sweetie!
Sounds impressive!
Think you'll find that the 40Gb holds 10,000 songs. BUT Apple are bringing out the sweetest little pink, blue, gold or silver ones shortly that only hold 1Gb, much more reasonable!!
I'll look for an iPod link - lol
You're on, Jags. Assuming we can find a time when neither of us are flat out working.
Ha ha ha ha ha. Oh, I needed that laugh.
