Hi all...
Well not sure whats happening around here and don't want to get into the ins and outs of the why's and whatnots.. but its gone really dull in here eh?
What i mean to say is come on all.. lets put a spark back into the forum if we can..
There has got to be some new posters who would welcome this lull and get themselves heard on anything they wanted to ask surely..
Mike xxx
So are you going to be the first to post something sparky then Mike? cool
I already have... Dohhhh!!!
Jeeeeez Mr Lightening fingers!.. (do they work so fast elsewhere?? :rascal: )
Yeah but Mike come on... the weather?? blink
Always fast.... lol
But only when needed..
The weather is better than fluck all... Mm Mm Yeah?
My point is to welcome those who would not normally say Boo to a Goose... Oops trademark whatsit there... but you get the drift..

Now that we've been upset most of the peeps in the s wales , bristol and s west and the swindon rooms, we thought its about time we upset the apple cart in here. rolleyes

Errr soz ; it will become
clearer soon; we'll send some peeps over form the s wales chat room then; they will put some life back into the forum. Oh,and the incident referred to above included a gorilla , a scooby doo and a bunny boy walking through Leigh Delamare services :P

Mike I agree...
But maybe it would help if some people were a little kinder in the way new posters were replied to.
The majority of people are welcoming but it only takes one or two negative comments to put people off posting. And I don't mean someone disagreeing with someone's opinion, I mean someone being criticised for posting their opinion in the first place.

I would agree with the above. I sometimes won`t post a reply to a thread as I really can`t be bothered to defend/justify myself to some scarcastic reply. Whether or not a poster means it as scarcastic i dunno but that is how it sometimes reads, its sometimes difficult to tell scarcastic from funny! lol

As you can see we've been around here for a little while; although we have not really been prolific posters. We have found it easier, and more friendly to be in the chat rooms;peeps in there appreciate a little humour better than they sometimes appear to do in the forums. But it is off putting to make a post only foir you to be jumped on by the regs before the return key has bounced back rolleyes
Anyway, you stuck with us now :P just my twopennorth
well i put a topic mr d having read this lol

i know all forums go through lulls but this one has gone one for quite some time now, and i have ran out of ideas of trying to bring it back, had a good go a couple of months ago to no avail
Earthy xx

Could not agree more, but it is not only the regulars, we are all guilty of it at some point or other. I think we ALL need to be a bit more aware of our posts and how we come across to other members of the site.

I was going to say good! Always nice to have some new posters, but then I read your other post

Here here you guys!!
I started posting Feb 06 and had some flaming to my posts. Possibly because at the time, new in I wasn't very good at putting across my point of view (still not very good) I kicked the forum into touch for almost a year before I thought, bugger it i'm gonna post anyway!
One of my personal losses during starting to post again is rather than posting how i feel at the time. With the sentiment and emotion pouting out lol I feel now i water stuff down which leaves my posts i feel without the 'edge' i would like them too have.
It is sad that DD and Kiss have left site and that others feel a little aggrieved at present. I for one, whether agreeing with or not agreeing with posters, enjoy reading some of the posts. I would want no one to feel as though they have to 'run the gauntlet' in respect of smart arse forum regulars responses to start posting their opinions and observations.
Loads of respect to people - Its the best way.
Good valid point Mike, I have tried (like many others Earthy, Dark included) these last few week to start topics on a swinging nature to get people interacting and posting (and frankly making good reading fodder to the essential newbies lurking and reading) and OK they've got beyond one page, but I'd like to see alot of the "older" members reply to these posts, so many of them don't and if they don't because they've seen it all before and can't be bothered then I find it sad that they have lost the will to contribute to their SWINGING forum. Sorry may sound brutal but as I have said before this forum is what we ALL make of it.
We need sparks back of humour, laughs, good swinging information, healthy informative debates (not personal slanging matches) and the like.

p.s. I am gutted that Kiss has gone, if you're reading Kiss :kiss
p.p.s. please any newbies watching and reading, please do post, there are so many of us here that will welcome you, we NEED new blood in here, we were all new once.
oh, and NWC, Pink can verify the gorilla, scooby and bunny boy redface

she is not the only one, i have seen 6 go in the last week, and not just from here.
I am not sure but wasn't the membership over 750,000 recently? If so then a lot of people have dropped out.
I think it may be more to do with the intake that occurred when the site changed hands, whose memberships are ending and they are moving on because it doesn't suit them.

I can indeed verify such unruly behaviour involving Scooby, a gorilla, lamposts, birthday boys, handcuffs, men dressed as women and the like.... :gagged:
Although strangely I don't recall the 4am departure, think I was otherwise engaged surprisedops:

Just another thought (Sorry, I am having one of those random thought days) I agree it is very sad when any member decides to leave the site and a lot of people (me included) will miss the interaction with them.
We are quick enough to commiserate when someone leaves, but can we all honestly say that we are quick enough to welcome new members?
If a new member makes what we feel is a silly post, do we send them a nice pm explaining where they have gone wrong, or do we have a go at them on the forums?
As I said, just another random thought, and if we are honest, I think we have ALL been guilty of it. wink
Pink, I am now getting worried about the company you keep lol

Give the mods a bit to do wouldn't it?
Banned members re appearing to troll the site. Spammers given free reign until spotted.
thats life on a lot of forums...but thanks for your positive thoughts!

the membership might say 750,000....but alot can't post in the forums because they are just standard members...make it free to post in the forums...and it could benefit the forums!

Yes NWC echo that, we SHOULD take time to show newbies where their posting style is perhaps not the "accepted" SH style. Some folk are very good at welcoming and explaining things, we should take a leaf out of their books.
As for the newbie flamers, don't get me started. rolleyes

p.s. don't blame me NWC honestly, I just happened to be in the same vicinity as those mad Welsh folks! I was corrupted honestly... redface
Don't forget we already have the Newbie Mentoring scheme!! lol We only get about half a dozen a week who ask to be mentored, so perhaps other regulars could point them in the right direction?

I'm an older member on here, and the reason I don't post so much any more is because of the grief that goes on.
I started a thread - quite a pleasant, non-controversial subject. Someone questioned the point of my thread, it descended into grief and was locked.
And I see other peoples' threads, sometimes newbies' as I mentioned earlier, get flamed, and I think - well, I'm not risking starting anything again.
A few times I have thought, "ooh, that's a good question/idea I'll air that on the forum - " and then, I think "Ooh no I won't, Suchabody is bound to give me some stick, so I won't do it"
And people might think, "just post and deal with whatever comments you get" - but my normal day time job is hard enough, I come on here for light relief.
I'm even nervous about posting this in case there's any come back - but what the hell. The majority of people on here are worth it.
Cherry
One plus though - I'm a member of Sarge's "locked Thread Club" - when are we having our first members only meet up? lol
Im a bit bored with the sit at the moment.
I like faamiliarity and hate change and negative posts
I only post in funstuff and the occasional serious thread
Lots of faces have gone and they happened to be the bigger players on here and i for one aswell as many others looked up to them and asked their advice from time to time
