I only have one tree to cut down and then I'll stick it back on ebay for someone else to buy.
I checked the cost to hire one for a day and it was nearly £50 + VAT. Buying one on ebay and then reselling it might only cost me a bit of postage.

If it is the large industrial sort he should have a chain saw certificate of training of some sort to use it!
Not for your own non-comercial use you don't.
But they are dangerous if used incorrectly. Chopping down trees is best left to experts
