Hope you can help, a friend has suffered a bereavement, and wants an Elvis song to be played at the funeral, however, the help needed, is to find an Elvis song suitable, do you lot have any ideas?
well.....i guess it depends what the persons favorite song was....but maybe an apt one is
" return to sender "
or ofcause
" always on my mind "
I went to a funeral two weeks ago where the person in question was an elvis fan, they played 'Love Me tender' and I thought the words were very appropriate to all who knew the person.
Love me tender,
Love me sweet,
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
And I love you so.
Love me tender,
Love me true,
All my dreams fulfilled.
For my darlin I love you,
And I always will.
Love me tender,
Love me long,
Take me to your heart.
For its there that I belong,
And well never part.
Love me tender,
Love me dear,
Tell me you are mine.
Ill be yours through all the years,
Till the end of time.
(when at last my dreams come true
Darling this I know
Happiness will follow you
Everywhere you go).
Love me Tender
Crying in the Chapel
The wonder of you
Return to Sender
Are you lonesome tonight
Treat me nice
Promised Land
Always on my mind
Memories
The wonder of you..
love me tender
always on my mind
To name a few maybe it would be better looking at elvis lyrics to see which song is most fitting
Last Friday was the a year since my stepdad died. He was a musician all his adult life. One of the songs he played for my mum as part of his set was played at his funeral:
Wise men say only fools rush in
But I cant help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I cant help falling in love with you
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I cant help falling in love with you
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I cant help falling in love with you
For I cant help falling in love with you
It really depends on the relationship between your friend and the person they have lost, I suppose.
You Were always on my mind is a lovely song too but it is one of regrets as well.
Pick a couple you like and print off the lyrics for your friend. See what h/she thinks?
Always on my Mind is a good one....
