Not a great piece of casting though was it?
I mean, Sandra Dickenson, mathematical genius?
Ahem.

Didn't she do an advert which was really irritating?
A car ad in which she kept fluffing her lines. Vauxhall Nova?

Hmm are you thinking of the Philidelphia girls???
Kinds freaky that she was married to Doctor Who though .... from one freaky scifi show to another .....
But did you know her husband also appeared in Hitch-Hikers?
Gold star for the first person to tell me the character he played.

We have a winner!
Peter Davidson ........ now lets see .... starred in Dr Who and fought the Daleks......... (looks slyly at Mark) we have our own Great Black Dalek ..
Peter Davidson ..... narrated a children's programme called Button Moon ... looks at the Great Black Daleks' profile .........
Something to tell us Mark??????
I was one of the original Radio series fans and could not understand why people did not think it was the best thing since sliced bread!
I was so disappointed with the TV series and went off it completely after a couple of programmes.
I have just recently got my kids to listen the the original radio series which I have on cd and also as MP3 and they could not believe how much fun it was to use imagination to add in "the missing pieces". Personally I think it did them more good than reading the book or watching the series.
I wonder how long it will be before some big American Studio gets hold of it and refilms it!
It was such a tragedy that Douglas Adams died when he was still in his prime.

To late me old mucker..... it will be coming out as a re-make later this year! I think it stars one of "the office" in it... and a couple of other "names" as well.
I loved the serise... and the books... the tv program (ignoring the cast) was quite close to the book.
Its a bit like stephen King's films... most are true to the book, and fail because we dont have the same visulisation of the places he mentions... wooden houses, whats that all about? tis bricks and morter in the UK, yet in maine its wood... So its all about personal ideas.

Ive heard that they're supposed to be doing a film version of HHGTTG and Red Dwarf, could be.........interesting especially if the yanks do it.
Loved Hitch Hikers, even though i was only about 8 when it was first shown.
Red Dwarf film slated for filming early 2005with UK 'normal' cast I believe.
