I find that I will often write a post and then after reading it, decide not to post. There can be many reasons; thought it might be funny but it wasn't, can't make it sound right, etc
I think around 10% of my posts never get posted.

at least 50% ! (but its probably alot higher, thinking about it 
) why? ..... well, the AUP for a start
....... but, primarily because by the time I've typed, read it and hit preview, the moment has gone, the thread's gone off topic, or 10 other people have responded in the meantime and my 'contribution' would probably just be repeating what's already been said
...I realise the previous poster wont 'get' my sense of humour or post style and take it the wrong way, or, it just doesnt make sense to anyone but me :doh: :lol: the one's that do reach the forum are, unfortunately, usually the one's where i'm either really interested in the topic & get all serious , or, I'm steaming mad, on one, or past the point of caring - the 'sod the preview button post it and be damned' type :lol: (Or , I'll read it and envisage someone pulling out the 'pseudo-mod' card (:dry
and end up deleting it because I cant be arsed with gagging orders 
) but, mostly I think I talk bollox and spare you lot the effort of reading it :lol:

Not a great deal of thought goes into my posts generally (Yeah I know you've noticed
) I know what I want to say and I say it kinda thing.
When I do decide to write aserious post then I will take time to edit and tweak it and re-read it etc so I will delete bits and add bits but very rarely do I type something and not post it ;). (Unless as Hungrypussy says Noel is fiddling with the site goes tits up and a post is lost...)

You often have to think/post fast!
Like it's been said sometimes if you dither the moment has gone,yet you can put up a quip or comment and then think on reflection it comes over a bit crap!
I have also learned to try to avoid anything that looks like a row or a potential row.
Expressing an alternative opinion is fine but I don't want to end up in a tit-for-tat slanging match with anyone.
I do think a fair few of my posts don't have the impact I hoped for - nobody picks up the ball.I don't know if this is because some posters know each other and understandably favour commenting on each other's posts or if my posts are lacking in SH charisma lol!

if you've got something to say even if it is heat of the moment why should you feel you have to confirm with thenorm or go with the flow. The way I look at it if it's on your mind then say it, simple as that. It may not be the right thing to say but non the less it is your view at that paticular time so why keep it botteled up ?

I don't post as half as much as I used to.. maybe even less, although I still type a lot, I just don't press submit. This being becuase of the scarily similar reasons already posted by Darkfire.
I dont tend to delete - but something pops in my head and i think NO - they wont get it and may take offence so i dont post - reason being my sense of humour can be very dry, a minority of scathing comments and a pm asking if i was serious ! Thus i now try to think before typing.
Some things i find i must reply to - which i do - others make me cross, those ones i rarely reply to, i go to another thread and breath, by the time i've got back its moved on

Well maybe I am a post whore, I've posted 60 in just over a day!! Don't worry folks, I will start thinking before I post, and I am sure the novelty will wear off, and the ironing and my life will need to be dealt with rather than being on here

I'm with you on this. Funilly enough I just had Foxylady2209 round for dinner a natter, during which I mentioned I had written two posts in the last few days that I hhad wanted to send, but had backed out at the last minute. Partly because they were quite personal. Very relevant to the topic, but personal. Imagine my surprise when I log on to see this thread... spookie....
Thing is I didn't really have a big problem with sharing the content because of their personal nature, just wasn't sure about how they might be recieved. Chickened out is the technical term I think.
Anyway, having spoken at length with Foxy, I might well be posting them next time I feel like I should.

I feel as many do previously. I would only like to add, that it can also be a little off putting posting something that the author then gets ridiculed out of all proportion. This discourages furtherposting from members.
Otherwise i just put things in a really bad way so i dont bother posting most
