I don't know about the situation with your wife, but this thing with the girl at work just sounds like it's got blown out of all proportion.
If I spent 18 months worrying or getting the hump everytime a drunken bloke made a move on me I wouldn't have much of a life left.
The only other explanation I can give is that maybe she's avoiding you because she's really embarassed about the situation.
I work in engineering, which is very much a mans world and when I started out I had to make a lot of effort to be taken seriously. When blokes try it on or get flirty I have to be really careful - I know if anything ever happened they'd get a pat on the back, but I'd loose all the respect I'd built up.
Just a thought.
