I am a little angry about once again my thread got locked not because of the subject matter, but because some like to lurk and attack others when ever they can with little snipes, I believe in a thread when people are being honest with their posts and speaking truthfully about the way they might think even though you might not agree with their opinion, the only way peoples opinion could change is to be able to have an adult dicussion about the topic.
I thought the thread I took time and effort into writing was addressing some peoples thoughts and narrow minded attidutes and I felt it was running in a adult way until someone came in to have a snipe, but not to add any constructive points on the debate that was going on.
I think people need to ask themselves why they always seem to have to snipe. Why cant we let people express their opinions without others constantly putting them down.
If you dont like what someone says debate in an adult fashion as after all this is suppose to be an adult site.
I think for the sake of people that like to use the forums for sometimes constructive debate, this needs to be looked into.

Your not wrong Minx I guess some will say the usual crapolla about how its a public forum and it is they'd be right. One or two though i know if you look through their post history they just post reams of insulting sarcasm or just plain sarcasm. Its a portrayal of how a lot of people would see them too. If only they knew that then maybe they could lighten up.

I think the one thing the forum does do really well is to highlight in text what people are really like much better than thier profiles state. The problem with written text though is it can be read or misread depending on how one wants to read it. Spoken language face to face conveys more than written text as body language can be monitored by the eye and ear but written text can be easily misconstrued.
Having said that some people just like to take offence and flame others for the hell of it and think themselves clever.

Most people in this community and that's what it has become now,realise that the forums and the chat are places to have fun and not to cause grief.
But sometime emotions do run away with people and things do get out of line but it takes an adult not to rise to the bait and walk away with their head held high.
Hopefully we will have more adults posting on here in future.

I agree I did smirk when I saw what you had done, as I do have a sense of humour.
What annoyed me was that it never stopped there, and I felt there was no consideration for those people that was posting about issues that they had to deal with and face in life, that was being discussed. I felt is was overtaken by tit for tat until the thread got locked, sometimes I feel some threads are talking about delicate issues and some I feel shouldn’t be hijacked but then that is just my opinion.
I do think it would be nice to have that thread unlocked and for the people that wanted to talk about Autism etc to continue to do so, and the people that don't understand to ask to find out, I felt we could all learn something about acceptance then.

It is a relatively recent occurance that one person has decided to argue with anything they disagree with by becoming abusive at the outset and then, of course taking the usual bullys route and claiming that everybody is out to get them and or baiting them
But not in a personal attack on any individual in the initial discharge that he then suffers flower!

I've been using these forums for over 5 years,i've seen people come and go,i've seen the mother of all slanging matches...it happens,we can't all be squeaky clean and lovey dovey which each other...just watch PM question time...thats one constant slanging match on who can get one up on the PM...and these are people that run the i'm trying to say is people will snipe,its human nature...as for hijacking threads its no different than when a serious thread gets hijacked by vomit inducing fluffy bollocks!
And of course there are those who are the antithesis of this.
At least with vomit inducing fluffy bollocks and those who are squeaky clean and lovey dovey they're not f*ckiing rude abd insulting. I do agree that maybe there are some so up there arse in PC speak that they'd need a torch and gps to find their way out, but being nasty is a different kettle of fish isn't it?
Lost ...there are plenty of people on here who are or have been abrupt, sarcastic, condescending or just plain rude on occasion.............
But there is only one person on this forum who is consistantly abusive and completely unable to accept other peoples points of view and much as I`d love to point the finger

Though I do admit that the member your more than likely referring too should leave off rising to the bating he gets, but as for the posting that the guy does. It is current affairs. It is how a very significant proportion of the country thinks so it has relevancy. Rightly or wrongly most who have disagreed with him at times, have agreed with him at other times. As yet i've never known any post of his to initiate a specific verbal assualt at any one specific person, though others go at him not his contribution, from post one of their contribution.
And if anyone dares to think that its because of these threads of his are whats killed a lot of interest then they need to look back at the stuff that went before. In fact the current affairs threads are about the healthiest and interesting thing in forum. Certainly said member is not the vomit inducing fluffy bollocks that Mr powers alludes to of other contributors in his post.
As a member of the public i'm also possibly a lot of what the said member dissapproves of within this society i've nothing to gain in siding with his arguements, but i do dislike the singling out and personal rudeness i witness day to day. Thats why i speak as I do.
Lets be honest here flower you've posted the odd controversial post in the past. Lately not so much, but then lately a lot of the existing members have less to say and less and less people use the forums. This is true not only of here but of other sites that the same members who use this forum are also members of. I know i'm one of them, though most wouldn't know.
And most of the people who had a go or disagreed VERY strongly with me did it without being personally abusive or in any way childish ...It was an adult discussion between people who found each others views abhorant but were still able to interact without personal abuse.
It is a relatively recent occurance that one person has decided to argue with anything they disagree with by becoming abusive at the outset and then, of course taking the usual bullys route and claiming that everybody is out to get them and or baiting them
But not in a personal attack on any individual in the initial discharge that he then suffers flower!
No ... of course not !!
He baits a group of people and then singles out anybody who dares to answer !!!!
It`s classic bullying tactics lost !!!
As soon as somebody makes a valid argument the abuse starts and the subject is changed !!

Ok i know simplistic in the extreme. I don't see a singling out of anyone in a vile or abusive manner generally (though on one occasion i do think I witnessed that it did happened but after a paricularily rough exchange, wish i'd remarked on it at the time but others had..lots)What I do see is a more intensive quizzing or possibly evangelising or the trying to convince others of the errors of their ways but most certainly not abusive to the individual. I'd go as far as too say that in many cases politely done!There is no bullying flower apart from him being on the receiving end!
I do agree that many subjects tail off ending in a duologue that goes nowhere and gets increasingly fraught when one person or the other should of felt that it was a case of agree to disagree and bow out more gracefully. the insults you see emanating from the member your remarking are I and others just dont see. Maybe i'm just post blind.

Really what about Peanut...I remember Kent and another member of this site...but mostly Kent though...ritually hound Peanut...Peanut was a very clever man,who spoke his mind and could easily run rings around Kent...but i remember Kent usually baiting Peanut for a reaction with abuse.
