Sorry to hear about your awful day. I find, when things happen all at once (and they ALWAYS do) I try to make myself giggle or (on a more serious note) think of someone who could be having more trouble than me.
Well, I have the perfect story for you. I read it once in a popular men's mag. I'm not sure of its originality, or authenticity but I found it amusing all the same. (stop me if you heard it before...)
A woman had an appointment for a routine smear test. As a rule, she took a bit of extra time on her personal hygiene before such appointments, but she was running a bit late, used a flannel on the side of the bathroom sink to freshen herself up.
She races to her appointment and finally she goes in.
She stares at the ceiling, wishing her GP would hurry up. In the quiet of the office her GP says 'My! Someone has made a special effort this morning.'
She rolls her eyes and after some time, she is told to get down from the examination table. She leaves her GP's office, glad that it's done and continues with her day.
Later that evening, while sitting around the table with her husband, the woman's teenage daughter calls down the stairs. 'Mum, have you seen my flannel?' the daughter shouts. 'Where did you leave it Hun?' the mother shouts back. The daughter yells that she had left it on the side of the sink earlier in the morning.
The woman tells her daughter that she will have to get a new flannel out of the linen cupboard. The daughter shouts back, 'I need that one! It has my glitter and sparkles in it!'
