 maybe you have an evil twin
Nice machine, but wasted on music.
I use it as an add-on removeable drive....
No iPod either, but my Nokia with large memory card (one it comes with as standard is nowhere near big enough) has a wide variety from Prodigy to Kylie, from Corona (oo dear maybe I shouldn't admit to that one) to recent Gwen Stefani (tick tock tick tock... such a rocking track). Beatles to Madonna to EMF. Eclectic? Maybe. Something for any mood though. Even a or two sometimes
The built-in speaker's a bit shit, but plug the headphones in and you get quite respectable sound for a phone. It just takes forever to start the music player with so many songs on it!
Oh I totally agree with the zombification of today's population. Worse than day of the dead. Make one of them plug theirs into the hifi in turns, unless the music is unsuitable for public audience. If they're on the train or otherwise travelling alone, or it's late and they're doing it to avoid waking anyone then fair enough (although still stops you being able to say hi to (or back to) any friendly passers-by while walking outside).
Can't bear to see another iPod user left out in the cold. iPods are sooooooo cool.
Soundbite to guys:
They hold 10,000 songs (the new ones have 15,000). They are automatic. A CD onto your PC - automatically on your hard disk. Plug your iPod in - all songs from your PC automatically updated to it. You can play them anywhere with just a pair of speakers. They save room. You can ditch all your CDs, cassettes, vinyl. You can also ditch your stereo except fro the speakers. They are a 'you'll never look back' experience.
Soundbite to ladies:
Ignore that. Just ask a guy (or girl) with an iPod to let you have a shot. It's silky smooth. It has no naff chrome buttons. It's *very* sensitive to the touch. Addiction happens fairly fast.
You will never convince anyone to get one on a forum - you have to try it.
ps mine's half full - c'mon see what's in it!
I have the Creative Lab version 30gb, whilst it is great and stores my whole cd collection plus a few from the net!! I think the ipod is better as it has a control on the headphones.
Just put the sissor sisters on it, wow what an album.
I have the IPOD mini - its 4gb and holds 1000 songs - less than some of the players out today but more than enough for me - especially cos it looks so good!! Currently my playlist includes albums from Queen (Sad I know but I like em lol), Eminem, Dr Dre, White Stripes, Stereophonics and Scissor Sisters as well as a collection of Steve Penk Prank Calls.
What I notice though is that despite having 850 songs on it at the moment I always end up playing the same 30 or 40 favourites.
I'm going on worlwide travels very soon and I've just ordered one off 't wait for my new toy!
As a semi hijack btw,I've got the old live springsteen 3 cd set powering out of the amp!
Still sooo good after all these years.

Queen - may not be "cool" with the youth of today but *%^&-em - still great songs and worthy of anyone's playlist.
Lazeeboy - take care of your iPod when you go, don't get it nicked or lose it anywhere.
