and I include myself on the 'real man' list but haven't managed to get permission yet lol
Anyway, Mrs JB has gone with daughters to see Boyzone and there's no way I'd be dragged along. I saw Westlife under protest last year and even Take That. But there's just a little undercurrent mentioning it to friends - aren't they just for girls? (or those of a less than manly disposition!). Or would a real man just go anyway and be above it all?

I know this is slightly off the boy band theme but...We are going to see Barry Manilow in December. People I know are taking the mick saying it will be all females there, and no guys would go.
That might be true but whats wrong with going to a concert that is packed full of females? Funny I am looking forward to it.

Nothing at all wrong with it... other than the fact that you'll have to listen to Manilow for a couple of hours whilst your perving!
I can stand a couple of songs, but a couple of hours? the women would have to be naked and going down on each other to make up for that aural trauma. rolleyes

It's Van Morrison or Gary Moore you're talking about... isn't it? Please tell me it's so? rolleyes  :P
Depends. For example my husband hates going to the circus, hence when the children were small he would never take us, I didn't have a car and so we never went. I always held that against him.
It wasn't that I particularly liked circuses myself but I wanted to see the joy on the faces of my children as mine surely had been when taken to the circus as a child.
Sometimes, one has to overlook what you don't want to do for the sake of the other people in the family and just so they store up great memories of having you with them.
On another note your being there might be a protection for them, they may feel safer in a crowd of strangers by having you there.
Its one of those things when you just have to remember that this is just a moment in time, a family outing and its no one's business but yours. After all sticks and stones, if any of your colleagues or friends laugh at your going, so what? What's the worst thing they can do to you?
I would prefer to think my family loved me and respected me than worry about a bunch of outsiders who may think its funny, may act as if they think its funny, but deep down perhaps they are faced with a similar predicament and you are doing them a favour in the long run by taking the lead.
Sometimes all men have to become the lion and be brave no matter what. And surely a little ridicule at the hands of outsiders is better than hostility and disapointment from your family?
Other than that you may just enjoy yourself.
So let go of the self doubts - and remember this wonderful little saying: "The past is history the future is mystery but the present is a gift to be unwrapped, examined and enjoyed moment by moment."
So go, live life to the full - no matter what you have to do to achieve that.
