New Motoring Law
In order to assist other motorists in identifying potentially dangerous drivers, it's now compulsory for anyone with a lower than average driving ability to display a warning flag (comprising of a red cross on a white background) attached to the top of at least one door of their vehicle.
For drivers of exceptionally low ability, additional flags are required!

I think the game itself is OK, but all the hype, big money, politics etc etc mean that the game in its purest form only exists in municipal parks, school playgrounds etc, and frankly those are the best places to watch it. I will confess to being a 'natural' Arsenal supporter because of where I was born, and I'll watch them if they're in cup finals and so on. Same with the British sides if there's an international competition, but unless Arsenal or England or Scotland are involved in some major competition, I don't watch pro football.
As it happens, there is a major competition occuring at the mo, so for the duration I am a total fan, and yes I DO have the red & white fluttering from my car aerial AND hanging out of my bedroom window.

Easy and davej - glad to kow that you are on the same wavelength and that at least two other men in the country are able to keep their own minds and not be swallowed up in the hype. I am sorry, but football is just a very boring game (covers his ears in preparation for the hoots of derision). I usedto like it. Until I was about 7 years old and able to understand more complicated games like rugby and cricket
I am glad the rest of you enjoy it - but what the hell do sane people like us do while the madness is giong on?
By the way easy, I also hope we get knocked out quickly so that the world can return to normal!!
Perhaps easy, davej and myself should all go round and see Jags while the footie is on. Jags, do you think you could cope with the adulation of three intelligent football hating men at once? I know you would give it a damn good try!

I was also a curling fan while the women's team were in the Olympics. Who cares how mind-numbingly boring the game itself is, as long as you can do a bit of cheering for your country? I mean, I would even support the Brits at cricket if only we actually played cricket, but we don't do we? :-P

I am a slave to my insomnia, Will. My doctor says I mustn't have more than two cups of coffee a day, but she didn't say how strong, nor how big the cup.
