Lying about ages?

Do you think/suspect that quite a few (well at least some) of the people that contact you here are lying about their ages? Some of the people that have contacted us seem so much older in their photo than they claim to be.
Is this quite common in your experience, or do you think all the shagging has dehydrated them a bit. lol

I had this in reverse. I got in regular forum contact with various people and when I went to the Midlands Munch this year, a lot told me that I was a lot younger than I looked in my avatar......a trio of lasses (who won't be named... rolleyes

) said "God we thought you are 50!"
I'm 31 ffs.....:shock:

I wonder if people don't believe that I'm 19. maybe that's hy I get a lot of timewasters. perhaps I should lie about my age in the other direction, lol.

People seem to, but why do they bother? (AFAICT I've seen one person who states their age as 35 here but 44 on another site... No idea why they would want to do that!?)
Maybe they look younger than they are?
But really I don't think it matters - people age at different rates and age is only a very rough guide (even rougher when people tell white lies!)
I wouldn't lie about my age - don't see the point.

I'm 27 but people usually say I look younger - obviously I'm not complaining as in my latter years I will be grateful.
Age doesn't really mean anything to me, but I understand that to some people it is a consideration when choosing playmates. Sure I've been turned down for being too young - well that's what they told me! lol

I can only speak for myself but I really don't get why people lie about their age in the first place, I do find it quite sad. Surely people want to be wanted for themselves? Not for a lie?
If you tell people you are younger than you are and then they meet you, you better hope you look the age you claim to be otherwise they will think it's your mother that's turned up instead!

There are a few classy very mature ladies about. They still have 'it' and look as if they are up for it, depending on the circumstances etc. And they are very capable and experienced lovers.
Anyway I approached a suitable woman recently in a gallery and got into a chat. Which was very pleasant. But when it got a bit more oriented to arranging a meet, she told me to get lost as I was far too young. I'm 50.
She was quite okay about it, and said it's happened many times. So off she went clattering on her heels, her bum wiggling in a smart suit.
Very tasty lady, but she's gone now............... cool

i agree totaly with that 1 particular meet i had looked like the photo had been took over 20 years ago :gagged: (quite a big difference in photo to real life) its people personal preference what pictures they use afterall
i do not understand why people lie about there ages i have on on quite a few occasions been told that i am to young i am fine with this i prefer their honest answer ( oir atleast that answer to maybe a less polite one) as i have done the same on turning people down because i feel they are a little to old

Personally, i cant see the point of lying about age either. Surely from a womans point of view, if she looked younger than her years, a compliment saying she looked younger would mean more.
I can't understand lying with a meet, coz if i was told they were 30 and when i got there they looked 50 - there would definately be no play - which would be a shame because i may not have refused them at 50 in the first place smile

I look younger than I am but I dont lie about age--no point.
I find guys often lie about whether they smoke, I`m a non smoker and ask that in the guys that I meet but I`ve had a guy tell me he didnt smoke only for me to find out when I kissed him that he did! Urgh. Cant see the point in lying about stuff that you cant hide. rolleyes

Thank you for all the replies. I'm sorry for the .....erm.. well slight delay in replying. I'm glad other people seem to have noticed it as well.
To redress the balance will will have to start telling people we are in or 20s!

in my eyes age does not make a blind bit of difference. We are all unique in our own ways. Could be 80 & still be very attractive & have a great personality. As for lying- there's no need. How can we judge if others are suitable on a web site if you don't take a chance & meet them dunno
