Make Friend / De-Friend

Sorry if this seems like a bit of a newbie question from someone who isn't that newbie but I believe in the old adage that "If you don't know ask!"
When I press the "Make Friend" button on a profile does it tell the "friend" I am now their "friend"?
If so then nobody has pushed my button in return lol! redface

It doesnt let the other person know that youve made them a friend. So dont panic, im sure your someones friend somewhere

I will confess I've also used it as a bookmark for profiles where I've thought I might be getting in touch via PM because we appear to have some interests in common but there are times when on reflection I decide not to contact them but then I've wondered if they've thought why did he make us a friend?

I wish people wouldn't do that small yellow writing..it plays havoc with my eyes ya know.
I never figured out this friend function thing,but then I never figured out how to put oil in my car..
not much good with a dipstick..RIP little plastic pig :cry:

I think its to do with your private photo's section. Only the people you've added as friends can view them in your gallery.
It makes sense but not 100% sure yet. Calista hun, how many pretty pictures can you see on my profile?

Not necessarily. You can invite people to view your private gallery and they don't have to be on your friends list to do so.

No, the only way that people can view your private gallery is if you send them an invite.
