I just came home to find my kitten screaming away at me in the car park sitting on a window ledge.....
We live in a fourth floor flat and the window was wide open!!!!!!
(den... grrrrrr!)
She is completely fine and has either jumped/fallen out- I don't know how she is alive, never mind the fact that she doesn't have a single scratch on her, but that's definately one of her 9 lives gone!!!!
I'm sure den left it open on purpose (he hates the beasties!)Mxx

My sister's cats used to do that all the time, cats can cope with falls/ jumps from high places better than we can x
aren't cats used to heights, they climb up trees don't they dunno
never had a cat -I like them but they don't like me (I'm alergic to them  )
hope she/he is ok
Paracat?
His name's not Bleach is it?
.
I have read somwhere or seen on a tv prog that cats can actually sort of paraglide when they fall from great hieght.
It said that cats are more likely to suvive a fall from into the tens of floors high than out of a tree as the lower they are the les time they have to get into the position to get the parachute shape.
So tune you wernt far off lol

There is some truth in this, I've just witnessed it. The first throw of Jeremy, out of the bed room window saw him turn his body around mid air, spread his legs and land albeit a tad heavy on his feet. The second throw with his legs tied together with pyjama cord saw him hit the drive like a sack o spuds and right now he is either badly winded or dead. I will check after tea.

Have you tried to see if a Rex cat is compatable, think thats the breed, not too sure but there is definately one breed that is supposed to be allergy friendly.
And I am a male who loves cats, like dogs too but give me a cat anytime. I`m very lucky in being surrounded by fields so a cat can explore on its own and I dont have to take it out for a walk when its chucking it down with rain!
Hun, I`d keep an eye on her and maybe take her to the vets for a check over if you see any sign of limping or stiffness (leave it smutsters!!). Cats have very strong resilient skin but damage can have taken place underneath.
I hope she`s ok, give her a hug from me.

True, but in fairness it's almost always the cat that starts it. Most likely to get the man into trouble so he gets kicked out meaning the cat is the sole center of attention again.

I find a 4x4 works as well and you have the added bonus of being able sit in a comfortable seat listening to your favourite radio station/cd smile
I am living proof that cats are brill lol
Hope your pussy's ok? smile

This was actually on QI the other night...
not the bit about shooting, trussing or otherwise damaging a perfectly good cat of course....
They can achieve much lower terminal velocities in "flight" and survive a fall all be it with a smattering of minor limb damage and internal bleeding.
Apparently injuries / fatalities increase up to about the 6th floor and then reduce and stabilize. As pointed out previously the 7th floor and above allows our feline daredevil to adopt the correct position for a forced landing.
Oh and please don't try this at home, you may have a stupid cat.
wink
