Like many of you, I clean the bathroom and kitchen every day. I hoover when the carpets look like they need it (hooray for speckled Berber carpets!) - probably works out 2 or 3 times a week. My house is pretty untidy a lot of the time but that's down to the fact I've gsthered so much crap in the 2 1/2 years I've been here ... more than my meagre storage space can cope with.
Every so often I have a life laundry and take sackloads of stuff to the charity shops but it never seems to make a dent in the clutter! I really need to take a more minimalist attitude!

I have 'life laundry's' every couple of weeks and still seem to have a house full of crap! Sometimes feels like all I ever do is pick stuff up and chuck it out!The only way I'd achieve minimalism is with an Access storage locker!!! rotflmao

how long are you in prison for flower411?...is a hoover a new make of car!
Our house is "lived in" I like to think boring people live in show homes....
The hoovering gets done daily, we have little ones so it has to be. The kitchen gets cleaned daily as does the bathroom, the ironing gets done when I can be assed which isn`t right now!!! lol. All the crap get binned when I have a hormonal hissy fit :lol2:

My mum lived in a show home for years everything was untouched and un lived in (and expected everyone else in her clan to have to time to keep up the perfect show home ness to, even their own houses) now she has a toddler running about the place and working full time she cant do it - her words *Impossible* It brought her down to earth with a massive whopping bump but in the same resepct has made her realise there is alot more important things in life than a spotless house

I personally feel slightly uncomfortable in peoples homes which are like show homes, it makes me scared to sit on the sofa incase I crease it, or accept the offer of a drink in case I spill it :scared: :lol2:

My mams house was somewhere i never settled because of things like you say specially when i was there with the son (kids love putting finger prints on patio doors they just have to touch) and it was a particular nark of my mothers :scared:
I used to have a bit of a thing for cleaning and still have latent issues with some aspects of it.
Compared to how I used to live my house is very dirty. I no longer clean under the sofa every time I vacuum. I no longer wash the carpets every week. I no longer polish the wooden and tiled floors with a toothbrush, bleach and boiling water every other day.
I no longer dust at 3am in case dust has settled while I was asleep.
My friends often reminisce about how inviting me over for dinner would mean their whole house was cleaned and all their dishes were cleaned prior to me being able to eat.
I vacuum a few times a week. I wipe down the surfaces every time I am in the kitchen, which can be 4/5 times a day or once a day. I dust weekly. I tidy perpetually.
I am renovating an aged house so the house is dirtier and messier than I would like. I have tools and ‘things’ all over but it looks the same at all times of day. I don’t tidy or clean for anyone else. I do it because I dislike mess. I still have issues. I am unable to accept any refreshments at someone’s house unless I have seen the preparation area and the cupboards. I will decline their offer rather than be rude tho’. When anxious or tense I will clean.. but it has no logic. I will wipe the same area again and again. If I do it consciously then I will clean with a purpose but if I am distracted then my logic disappears and I become a bit repetitive and frantic. It is all part and parcel of the wonder that is me! rolleyes
It is something that I am well aware of and doesn’t infringe on anyone else. My son just leaves the cleaning area and lets me get on with it. Wor lass gets stuck in and helps when I am 'on one' she has similar issues - we are well suited.

cillit bang is rubbish.
what you need is good old soda crystals. :P
What I don't know about cleaning products isn't worth knowing. rolleyes
for one of my birthdays one of my best friends bought me an aluminium bucket and scrubbing brush. Her partner thought she was crazy until he saw how excited I became.
i must say, although i clean the house regularly, (ok thats a fib my husband hell cleans regularly) our house isnt always tidy, i do try and tidy when i know people are coming but then again, ive started to look at it that people have come to see me and hell, not how tidy our house is, they jus have to take us as they find us, though usually i still tidy up anyway lol

At least I now know how to get you excited :P And you shouldn't use soda crystals on aluminium, use borax instead :-)

I promise to keep you away from the kitchen sink tho wink
have six kids at home, 16, 13, 11, 3, 2, and 9 months now as for tide, I have a hover which I think is an extra arm, we have that many air freshners is like a bloody flower garden and I won't go into tea time feeding, it's a war zone but when they are all tucked up our house is back to normal clean and tidy till morning when they all decide to attack again.
Love easy plus Bob
