Come on Drew.....your be saying Home and Away is your second favourite soap?

Well if he is a true Aussie soap fan then no.2 should be Prisoner cell block H. Now that was class and if you argue you may end up in the dryer or with your arm in the press, ohh nasty.
Neighbours = T.V,

I have just heard on the news that the BBC has chosen to stop showing the greatest soap in the world due to the fact that the company that makes it has raised its prices!!!!

Drew... get a job. That way you won't be home at lunchtime when it's on, or home in time in the evening either. That should help you get over it.

soaps are a complete waste of tv money cool
Id like to put a long rambling informative argument to create a debate, but I cant thats all that needs to be said.

You are right and I certainly wouldn't cry over the loss of a few more I could mention!
My theory on soaps is, theyre a government conspiracy to make our own lives seem better
They are full of nothing but sadness, hardship, murder, betrayal etc.
The only problem is, they are so addictive rolleyes miss out on one day and ive lost the plot.
I watch:
Eastenders
Coronation Street
Emmerdale.
Joe stopped watching them years ago as he said they are an insult to his intelligence :giggle:
Each to their own.

i do agree with that to an extent - i think the government puts pressure on broadcasters, to make daytime tv as dire as possible, to encourage the workshy to have a reason to leave the house
I have theory that the rise in anti-social behaviour / 'Ricky Lake type program audience/guest outbursts is down to the influence of soaps in the way they portray people aurguing all the time.
Regarding soaps I watch, it is only Eastenders from time to time (not watching it much right now however).
Many years ago when Emmerdale was a Yorkshire countryside soap I enjoyed that for a while (I'm a part time farmer you understand innocent ) but not after they got rid of Seth!

I liked Emmerdale farm, as it used to be called. As a londoner not getting to see much country life it was good to see the farming that they used to do. Of course i know it wasnt exactly true to life but all the same i liked watching the lambing etc.

Even The Bill has gone down hill since it went soap style!

The actor playing Seth died.
Don't worry about neighbours . I'm sure channel 5 will pick it up.
I'm just sorry that the sullivans isn't on anymore

Thank you for that information Jags. I have not watched the program for many years after the change to a non farming based 'Soap'. The lines given to Seth declined significantly, therefore I assumed he had been let go as is so often the case in Soaps.

Worse than that, I took a look at the Bill a year ago and they had adopted the 'shakey camera technique' - yes it really is a technique to be learnt on a training course.
