Oy you norfeners.
Do you still make yorkshire pudding that fills the entire plate?
As I recall they are a meal on thier own.
Bleeding nice though.

We always had ordinary sized Yorkies with dinner.
When we visited our rellies in Sheffield they always served them with gravy before dinner. I hated that! I always kept some aside to have with my main meal.
I'm assuming that having your Yorkshire puds beforehand is because they are relatively cheap to make and would fill you up so you wouldn't mind not getting much meat and veg after????
Who does that then - puds before dinner? I'm from the top end of North Yorks and I'd never heard of it till we wnet to Sheffield.

This is of course fiction but it sure winds up the Yorkies :P.
I take my hat of to the Yorkshire lasses, they have always been good at cooking and fxxxxxx and excellent at knitting...only kidding, only kidding.

Mmmmm.. that was the best bit about Sunday dinner at my dads parents place. Yorkshire folk, they were. From Leeds.
"Starter" was always a plate sized Yorkshire pud, full of gravy and an onion. Feckin class!!

Talking about fish and chips, as we were'nt.
When I was a young whippersnapper, knee high to a grasshopper.
The chip shop use to sell us scraps, for a penny (very old money).
You know the bits of batter left in the fryer, and bits of chips.
Best place to be on a cold wintery night, was inside the chip shop with its coal fired chip cooker.
Loverlyyyyy

With all these cookery progs on the box.
Do we or have we in general got the time to cook fancy meals, like beans on toast for instance.
No seriously. like a slap up three course dinner with wine and all the trimmings.
