Can I suggest everyone read a book called "America Alone" by Canadian-American auther Mark Steyn.
I know it sounds one-sided, but all you've ever heard uptil now it the other side.
As for religion, Dawkins rules!

There are many special things about most religions and faiths, particularly where the 'nicer' things are highlighted. We have our choirs up and down the country, doing some special stuff in the name of Christianity.
We don't lack in the higher aspects of appreciating faith stuff in the UK, but we have got out of the practice of doing the groundwork that makes the appreciaton all the more rewarding.
Bah humbug and all that, but if you can do it for one week at xmas, is it so demanding to try and spread some of that cheer across the year also? The goodwill exists, the potential is always there' it just needs the application. But we don't, and we ration ourselves on it.
So perhaps faiths are like other things one lives by. For some its sex, drugs etc. For some its keeping fit, for others its a faith providing the big high.

With regards those moslem women who claim that men treat them with more respect when they wear a hijab... should'nt men be treating them with respect anyway, no matter what they are wearing ?!
All religeons tend to treat both women and sexuality with fear and disdain, if religeon had its way, this site and swinging in general would be banned.
Its worth checking out the National Secular Society website for regular news on what religeous fundamentalists are getting up to.
