woo do you ride on there backs lol    some of them must be nearly as tall as you
My pooch is hanging on in there at the moment. He's on steroids to help keep the size of the tumour down but they make him constantly hungry. It's really hard not to keep treating him, knowing he's on his way out, so the result is he's now a BBD lol
Firstly a heart felt <<<HUG>>> to all those who have lost or are currently fighting for their pets.
Secondly, thank you buckingfabe for posting this thread. I have been living with some measue of guilt ever since my GSD died a few years back because I was more upset at his passing than at the passing of a good friend. Reading some of the posts in here, including yours, it seems that I am not alone in this phenomenon and it has eased my conscience considerably, thank you all kiss
Woohoo smackbottom that’s for making me cry.
Last Will And Testament Of A Cat
When humans die, they make a will
To leave their homes, and all they have to those
they love.
I, too, would make a will, if I could write.
To some poor, wistful, lonely stray
I leave my happy home,
My dish, my cosy bed, my cushioned chair,
my toy
The well-loved lap,
The gently stroking hand,
The loving voice,
The place I made in someone's heart,
The love, that at the last
Could help me to a peaceful, painless end
Held in loving arms.
If I should die
Oh! Do not say:
"No more a pet I'll have
To grieve me by its loss."
Seek out some lonely, unloved cat
And give my place to him.
This is my legacy
The love I leave behind
'Tis all I have to give.

ah bless woo kiss
im worried about my dog at the minute she keeps being sick confused
I still feel guilty about having my dog put to sleep 10 yrs ago.
My mate won't have a dog anymore because of the grief it causes when they die.
Pets are part of the family.
I have lost two dogs, both mastiffs, big soft and lovable - both went down with bone cancer in the front leg, a weakness in the breed with older age.
I cried so much, as I have never grieved for a human like I did for both those dogs.

I posted this poem in the poem section but it seems ,here might be a good place to post it again for those who didn't see it..
If It Should Be…
If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle can’t be won,
You will be sad I understand,
Don’t let your grief then stay your hand,
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love and friendship stands the test,,
We’ve had so many happy years,,
What is to come can hold no fears,
Would you want me to suffer? So,
When the time comes please let me go
Take me where my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me to the end,
And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see,
I know in time that you will see,
It is a kindness you do to me,
Although my tail it’s last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved,
Do not grieve, it should be you,
Who must decide this thing to do,
We’ve been so close, we two these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

This has just made me cry, I hope I never have to take our dog I love him so much
Ok Folks so I have made you sad now it's time to make you go Awwwwwwww!!
Here's one of the Christmas cards I used to make every year when "my boys" were here.
Took a different picture of them every year dressed in their christmas finery and made it into Christmas cards to send to family and Friend's.
This one even got published in the Sunday Post which is a Scots newspaper.
I was on holiday in Scarborough and was walking alone the beach with the dogs and a woman said those are very like the dogs in the Sunday Post the other week...
ffs I couldn't even go on lol hoilday
This might be your first Christmas card folks wink

Woo the painting is gorgeous really lovely.
Huge hugs to everyone else who has lost or is worried about their pets. It's so awful to have to lose them
Moushka was the first of our husky's to go. She had cancer and eventually we had to take her to the vet to be put to sleep. Chocolate is lethal in large amounts to not only husky's but most breeds of dog. Unfortunately she absolutely loved it and would pinch it wherever possible. Her other vice was a cup of tea and she would nick that too given half the chance.
When we took her to the vets, just before she was put to sleep I gave the her the biggest bar of dairy milk I could find just before her injection because I wanted her to go happy. She died with her head in my arms 5 minutes later. RIP Moushka :inlove:

Actually Sarah it took me about 40 attempts every year to get them to do all of the above and in the end up they got wise to xmas and wouldn't smile or anything when I brought the camera and decoratitions out ,then as soon as I said "ok I give up", they ran about mad and smiled nonstop.
And they say they are dumb animals aye right, fecking heard it lol

Feel for you Keeno :-(
My pooch has had a scan and has a massive tumour on his prostate that is untreatable by drugs or operation. He seems fine but it's just a matter of time before it starts to affect him

Barney is still hanging in there but we've decided when his tablets run out in 2 weeks we're (I'm) taking him to be put down. He's now struggling to poo and his wee accidents are getting more frequent. He seems quite sad but some days he seems so normal; it's such a hard decision to make. Can't believe how long ago it is since I originally posted on this thread.
I know just how you feel we had a cat for 13 years and had kidney trouble. He was a loved member of our family and a great loss when he went. We had to have him put to sleep but I made Hubby do it as I knew I just couldn’t.
That was 4 years ago, a few months after we went and got 2 rescue cats and they have helped in filling the void.
I would say leave it until you are ready and get another cat.
There are plenty that would love a good home that you could provide.
But you never forget the ones you have lost, we still talk about his antics to this day.
