ruthless banning rules

Why are the moderators on this site so rude and unfriendly iI rules are followed we get banned a polite enquiry and a -ruthless reply :the rules are clear : well I for one beleive mr or mrs moderators you are wrong its stated that if banned a case will be looked upon fairly : No: Wrong mr or mrs moderators decision is final the answer simple :if you dont like go elsewhere why ? because our Rules are twisted and modified depending on the standing in this close knit community of the poster .Well I am sorry thats very wrong.

I can't see a problem with that. I'm fed-up with seeing it, the mods are fed-up with seeing it and I bet a lot of the others are fed up with it as well. It has no validity or purpose other than to have a go at people who have volunteered to do this job (and keep some of us entertained with sniping comments about the poster). So why keep it?
It's not thought police. They're entitled to have your say, but I don't see why you should pay to have someone slag you, your mod team and your site off. If you want someone to do that I'll open a premium-rate line and you can pay me Â£1-50 a min for the priviledge. wink

my venting was appropriate as my emails were ignored
As I stated you can not complain politely to swinging heaven for you will always receive the same answer

Are there different mods for different people or somat?
We've been here a while and I'm sure by now we've at least said hello to them all. We have never yet found a mod that hasn't been friendly and helpful. At the N W Much II Steveg_nw and Vicky_Uk went out of there way to make us feel welcome and it was very much appreciated.
So instead of using this as an opportunity to say if you dont like it then leave I'm going to use it for a much better purpose and thats to say

On the subject of "free speech":
Speech on this site is not free. It is bought and paid for by private individuals who allow others to use it at no charge. Furthermore, if the users were paying for the privilege, they would still be bound by the rules of common decency. Paying for a drink in a pub does not give you the right to abuse the landlord. Abusing the landlord when the drinks are on the house is not only the height of bad manners, it's also bloody stupid - bite the hand that feeds you often enough and eventually that hand will withdraw, but perhaps not before smashing you in your ungrateful big gob.
The rules of posting and advertising are well thought out and perfectly clear to those who bother to read them. If you fall foul of them then "rules are rules" is all the explanation you need, but a more polite request for clarification than the rant at the top of this thread may yield further dialogue - coming in here and whingeing about it will simply make you look a fool.

I've read all two of your postings and I have no idea what you're talking about, beyond that you're generally pissed off and have been emailing the moderators about something-or-other. Since you've chosen not to furnish us with enough facts to make our own judgements, my gut instinct is that the moderators are in the right, because they usually seem to be more-or-less on the ball. And are also literate.
There are techniques that can be used to change hearts and minds. This isn't one of them.
