I've just spent a week in Cupar(Fife) playing golf and found everyone I met very friendly and keen to help, a huge difference to the south east of England.
Little I hear you're anger and hope it doesn't get too you that much. People are people and that's what makes the world so different. I travel to England a great deal through my work and get the obligatory banter about being tight with money, drinking anything (which is pretty true!), having a blue complexion etc, etc. But I can't really say that it has ever been anything but in jest - as lets face it there are plenty of things to laugh about if you come from Scotland, England, Ireland, Eire and Wales.
Lets hope somebody has just rubbed you up the wrong way (so to speak!).
And to Judy TV - don't go changing what you do already. Never met you before but you sound like a well rounded person and I'm sure you what no mimick anyone's accent to intentionally hurt them.
I'm off to watch Taggart on re-runs....There's been a Murderrrrr
