Sent Mail and impatience: am I alone?

Is it just me, or does anyone else get ridiculously impatient when you've sent someone mail on here and they don't read it for aaaaaages?!

I am so impatient, I check constantly untill its read. Then check constantly until a reply comes lol

:lol: :lol: Its cos of that thing where you can still delete it and it has still has that bright red 'unread' tag in the mailbox. If it was old fashioned non SH email you would send it and forget lol

In fact... literally the second before I opened this thread that's exactly what I did! lol

G... I don't think you can delete them like that from here... I suspect once it's sent it's sent and if you delete it then it just removes it from your box but not from the recipient's box. Could be wrong mind... it has been known! :lol:

That is true, I sent someone a PM, changed my mind, deleted it, thought "sorted" and got a PM back regarding the PM I thought I had deleted.

This is true - it takes it out of your box but it still puts it in their box cool

I would ask why you bothered to send it knowing they were on holiday but I've done the same thing just lately!
I missed chattering with the person so I sent them mail for them to read on their return! redface

Was just a guess on my part. I dont generally like anyone enough to PM them, you know what a miserable asshole I am. I tend to say it right here :-)

Ahhh... it's because it is a completely innocuous bit of mail which, if I hadn't sent it then and there, would probably have been forgotten.
The impatience comes because I can now see it sat in my sent mail folder unread. I am a bit sad like that.

I must be very bloody patient- I've only just discovered the function. rolleyes

I'm nonplussed- when they read it, they read it.

On a slight tangent, do unread messages have an expirey time?
I sent one to someone a few weeks ago and it sat there unread now it's gone but they still haven't been back to the site for about a month dunno
