Because they're masochistic? Or maybe because they would want to know your personality before making a decision, as requested.
Granted they will need to ask questions, but why should that necessarily involve personal contact? I mean, they wouldn't insist on personal contact if I told them my birthday would they? They'd just tell me whatever on the basis of information received.
And that would be vague. "Most people wirth your star sign are blah blah blah" However if they spent time with you, it would be more accurate and personal to you. Without this,they might give you the right grouping.. Air/Fire sign, etc. But not enough personal stuff.

Fair enough, you've convinced me of the need. If any astrologer wants to do this experiment, I'll go one on one and answers all questions as accurately as I can. Obviously I'm extremely skeptical, but I promise to give it a fair test.

It brings out so much emotion to see, but you just know you can't do anything to help it, it has to learn on it's own. So are most things.

but I aint gullibill either. Once you are truly in tune with yourself, your true spirit, and more, but for fear of ridicule I wont elaborate, do your research, you will KNOW what the truth is,for this incarnation at least) and what is not.

With the greatest of respect, I don't think I am any more or less "blinkered" than you. I just don't share your belief. By the same token, you probably don't share mine, but I wouldn't call you blinkered because of that.

Ad hominems don't get us anywhere. I could just as easily argue that some people need more tuition than others in quantum physics, and some never learn. You might even regard that as mumbo jumbo. ;)

I would be more inclined to ask how it works, rather than `prove it does`. If anyone could offer me a rational (and for me this means scientific) explanation upon how this is acheived, then I could except it. Anything other than that I would have to accept on blind faith, and I don`t do blind faith. Unfortunately (for some, maybe even me) I am geared to suspect anything which cannot be supported by science...even if it seems to work, as I wouldn`t be able to see and understand for myself how it works.
I dunno, is it something to do with the gravitational forces of the earth at the time of your birth pulling all your emotion chips into a certain order?! :mrgreen:

Like I said, I'm not here to convert you. I personally find it easier dealing with the soul as appossed to dealing with the person. It's easier to forgive the eath mistakes of the soul. While the manifestation of the soul for me can piss me off no end.

A quick idea about why star signs might have worked... until part way through the 20th century, diets and sleep patterns were very depedent on the seasons. I think it's reasonable to think that as a child developed, periods of short days and low food stocks centred round (say) 1, 13, 25, 37 etc. months after birth might well cause personality to develop differently to a child born 6 months later, who experiences winters around 7, 19, 31, 43, etc. months of age.
Of course, now that we have fridges, food imports and electric lights, star signs would should less well if this is true.

So I've changed my mind and here it is.
So about the sleeping position.......
Learnt it at a sleep clinic back in SA because my ex and I were not compatible sleeping partners (not to be confused with bed-parteners, though towards the end easily confused.)
The theary is...sleeping on your back realignes the spinal cord, and for new ages, resets the chakras, back into sinc, and sleeping on your back avoids all the *bed wrinkles* and creases in the bedding which eventually show on the face. The only down side I find is, it's the only position in which we have nightmares too. But since discovering that (sleep clinic again) I mostly know which dreams are significant (disclaimer from sleep clinic) and which are premonitions, warnings, or the brain sorting through the dross.
