Signatures

OK - enough is enough!
If some of the sigs get any bloody bigger it's gonna be 2 posts per page soon rolleyes

Some are funny - some are just a waste of bloody space.
I strongly dislike any that read like a blog and almost list every social that person has attended.(god knows what some newbies think when they see them)
I am now growing to hate the strips with just usernames on - yes it probably is the most resonable thing to have as a sig - but not when it takes up 5 times the space that is ever used for the actual post above it.
I go on some threads and struggle to find what has actually been posted between all of the flashing names and hotel room numbers.
Well that is my rant on it - what is your opinion?

I've reduced mine a little recently as I admit it was a little out of control. confused

I was thinking of losing the gif anyway, the joke seems a little rusty now.
Do you think it's an idea to have a maximum sig length then?

Well, I tried - looks like you can only opt to show/hide your own sig.

No - far from it - as with your gif ... sometimes they can be sooooo very funny - but they do have a life-span.
I would like to think people could apply some form of self control and trim a little as well as add.

I totally agree Polo.......we were only saying the other day that perhaps not so much here but in another place some of the signatures read more like War and Peace......
seeing a long sig once in a thread isn't so bad but when the same people with overly long sigs keep replying in the same thread you find yourself being overwhelmed by the signatures and not actually reading what they've written.......

It maybe an idea for the admins to look into a forum hack that allows your signature to only appear in the first post you make per thread, that way it's still displayed, just not on every post..

If my signature offends your eyes or mind in any way I am willing to negotiate a change of sorts.
Any change, of course, will require a payment for for the amount of bandwith saved. Payment will be of a mutal agreement and posted on SH (it) for all to see.

I change mine from time to time but this one has stayed for a while because i like it just as i have with my avatar and profile they allways change.
I still like my sig as it is and i made i as to not make the screen wider as that is a pet hate of mine too like Dammy says but i'm not too bothered about scrolling down.
I have the option on this site to place/change avs, sigs and profile and i use all options available to me to make myself known other than the ads which i'm not keen on using.

anyways, i don't really like big sigs. text is fine, but the are a right pain in the posterior if you're on dial up. one forum was unusable cos it took so long to load the page. they eat into the bandwidth the SH server that has to fetch 'em and display 'em has available, and the amount of bandwidth i have available to download 'em.
as for you pololady? showing off that is! lol
