If i buy something and cant get it to work, even if its down to my stupidity I would take it back to the shop. If the assistant told me that they wished people would come in and tell them how good the product was, I probably wouldnt find it particularly helpful.
If having told them that it wasnt very helpful, the assistant told me that they are usually very helpful and that I shouldnt complain about them doing their job I wouldnt find that particularly helpful.
