Firstly I think some spark of physical attraction.
Then personality, character whatever you want to call it that decides if i really am attracted to someone.
No checklists of criteria to meet or expectations to be met just whatever the hormones and instincts tell me at the time backed up with compatibility.
I think what I'm trying to say is that the instinct side is still there in the process but that on its own isn't enough anymore especially as clubbing over the head and dragging back to the cave by the hair is not an option these days.
