I hate it when urban legends reach such a crescendo that the relevant authorities are forced to comment. But I do like things to be clear.
No biscuit this time darn.
Ah but that is their job. To stop rumour and state how it is. There are loads of pieces of legislation out there that are not routinely used by the authorities.......but god forbid something goes wrong then they will use it against you as it is the law. This is what happened with the example that Dereck gave. No idea if it actually happened as I have not found the case he was refering to, but I suppose it could.
When rumour or speculation abounds then I am glad the authorities step in at an early opportunity to quash and state what it really means

You are probably right.
Minx is peeved---she quite enjoyed the sight of the local scallys clearing the car roofs lest the heddlu had reason to investigate the boot and discovered the hydroponic kits and bin liners of "vegetable matter".

:shock::shock::shock::shock:
That's illegal!!
I remember watching one of these police reality TV shows once. I was always under the impression that the police had to have a reason to pull over a car, well this police officer said the car was too law-abiding so he was going to give it a tug. (At first I thought he meant he was going to give the car a wank.......but I soon became accoustomed to the slang wink ).
So whether the scallys drive like lunatics or drive safely, they may still get pulled over.
I thought it was strange, but they did find stuff in the car and arrested the driver. Thats why they are cops..............and I watch it on TV for entertainment lol

Depends what it is. (Another reality cop show rolleyes) One I watched from America was a guy selling bags of vegetation........and it was just that, grass cuttings, hedge clippings, etc. People were buying it for $20 a time. I howled in laughter at it, but this guy was arrested by the American cops and charged. No idea if we have an equivalent, would trading standards get involved with drug dealing dunno
It did make me laugh though

I am minded of Not The 9 O'clock News.
"there is no law against.... looking at me in a funny way"
Personally having driven behind a blizzard blowing off the roof of the car infront, is, at the very least inconsiderate, to drive around with a large quntity of snow on a car roof, so if the law wants to give these people a tug, then it's fine by me.
How does a lorry driver get onto the roof of his trailer to assess the quantity of ice and snow on it's roof safely. Cue H&S. I have seen a large quantity of ice fall from a trailer right infront of me. Scary wasn't the word.
As for selling vegetation, regardless of it's source if you belive that what you bought isn't legal vegitation, you can be charged for it. One poor soul was charged with possesion, as the Camel Shit he possesed, was, he believed illegal.
How are the biscuits Ben, can you dunk a Bonio?

Well I never knew that. Looks like they can have you both ways then. How much of a prat would they feel to go down for having some grass cuttings lol

Has he ever known anybody done for it guf? The snow on the roof that is.

Yes - he booked a driver on the A331 this morning - mainly for undemisted windows and because the driver got arsey threw in the DCA for snow on the roof for good measure along with four illegal tyres. Must have made his day. lol
ya gotta love an arsey motorist in the wrong.
I sing jingly versions of nursery rhymes, leave the window down and pretend i am an ice cream van.
