It's all down to personal taste. I love them. Love seeing them love having them, but mr ain't such a fan. The odd one, discreetly placed and easily hidden when needed is his theory.
I have, well, a couple redface . But like it;s already been said, it's a strange thing for some people and can get too addictive much like piercing. And there's the price to pay for having that " one " you now regret having done.
i've got 2 tattoo's one on the ankle ( my sons initals) took me a long time to build up the courage but then got addicted so have another one on my shoulder a butterfly with my hubbys name twisted around it. love to have one on my wrist but working up the courage for that. my hubby has'nt got any (says he does'nt like them but i personally think he could'nt stand the pain) .

We women understand pain, afterall, some of us were married before :evil2:

Need a new keyboard now biggrin
Mrs ccr has recently had one on her back, between her shoulder blades. It is something she has wanted for ages and finally plucked up the courage to go ahead and have it done.
As for myself, I have been thinking about it for years but have not yet taken the plunge. I know the design I want, where on my body it will go and (following from Mrs ccr) I know the guy who would do it. The pain does not bother me it is the permanence of the thing that prevents me from having it done.
Who knows, I may yet take the plunge!

My hubby has a band with feathers on it, and an American indian, on his arm. Had it done in Sheffield though.
Is he happy with the results FB?
and was it B/W?
and am I envious?

No, it's in colour but it's lovely. He's very pleased with it.
For years now I have fancied having a dragon done.
No idea if it would be black and white, coloured or indeed even where I would have it.
I have not even had the courage to talk to a tattoo artist about it, never mind actually having it done.
One day maybe.
i have one on each ankle, a fleur d'lys and an african symbol meaning "love" which is my avatar. actually, the more i look at it the more it looks like a face winking at me. i quite like that biggrin
i want another one on my back, kinda over the top of my shoulders, ive yet to see a design i like and havent got round to having a go at designing my own, i will one day wink
go for it Manolishi...
at least have a word with your friendly nieghbourhood tattoo artist...
they'll most probably be really frienly and helpfull if they realise you're genuinely interested, and asking advice....
Id been thinking about it for ages before getting my little one done
(little tattoo!..I not refering to a child!!ok??.. nor my todger!!)
in the end it was a case of *oh f*ck it!* and I strolled into a parlour that looked rather dodgy in Kings Cross.... not there any longer..
I was confronted with what you might consider a typical bunch of Tatt artists and their clientele... Hell's Angel types...apparently coloured head to toe from what I could see...!
(stereotyping?..me?)...>no offence intended to any Skin Artists/HA's onboard Good Ship SH!< wiping beads of sweat from brow... I found them lovely (if thats the right word to use here)
looked through the catalogues, had a chat... if i remember, a cup of tea was offered!
all was well...
and whats more, on the shoulder blade for me at least... hardly felt a thing... although I had imbibed a little aneasthetic in the local public house first.

Shocking! My tattoist would never have allowed that! biggrin
Just got the one and took me many years to figure out exactly what and exactly where. Don't regret it at all but didn't have it done until I had reached that place in the first place.

Very similar experience here too. In fact, they would not allow casual decision and all work had to be booked a week in advance to give what the financial houses would call a 'cooling off period'.
Still, did get something that can't be seen with a t-shirt on and my mother still doesn't know....
