Well, I can't speak for other chaps, but for me here is the usual spend...
3 condoms (extra small with inserts) £2
Bag (for head) used to be free, but now they are 80p a shot at Tesco.
Six hundredweight of Viagra
Toothpaste (well, you gotta make a special effort) £1
Soap (Ditto above) 80p
New Shirt : £40 (unless I can catch an errant air balloon in which case with a bit of blue peter magic and strategically placed holes it's free)
Shower : Pennies (Unless it's raining in which case it's a freebie)
Trousers : Free (No point spending big on these when their main action for the evening is to be whisked off with any luck)
Accommodation, food & Beer : £40 - £200 (Depending on if it's a cheap night at home with a pizza or a weekend away in a hotel)
Petrol : £40 a tank.
Tissues : One box (£1)
Barf Bags : 20p each (Optional, but I am always considerate)
Toys, Vids etc : Dependent on the choice on Ebay (Don't worry, I won't buy anything that is older than fourth hand and I positively insist on smoke free homes)
Brush (For hair on head and back) : £3
So totting that up is somewhere in the region of Which is probably why I don't do it that much I think.

Mine does. In fact, when I mentioned swinging, I was provided with a bumper bag of various colours, sizes, flavours, lube, and was given some latex-free ones. I was asked to be very choosy about using them though, and to only use them in the case of allergies because they're much more expensive than the latex ones. I can't imagine a GUM clinic saying "yes we'll help you to have safe sex - as long as you don't have allergies!!"
- pay babysitter - fair enough
- get special meal for babysitter (...) - nope, they come after tea or they would have whatever I was making. Something cheap like pasta which is easy. My babysitter is a vegetarian and to be honest I don't want to spend my pre-meet time cooking.
Vegetarians can eat pasta as far as I'm aware, but I wouldn't feel that I had to feed the babysitter as well as paying them. They can eat before they come round!
- buy outfit for going out - Nope, would never bother. I am most comfortable in my jeans so whats what I would go to a meet in. A person is playing with me, not my clothes (I hope) and I want to feel as relaxed as possible. As a full time lone parent, clothes were the last thing in my mind so it was good to have an excuse to buy something new and pretty.
But you wouldn't need to buy a new outfit for every meet ;)

Surely the point is that you spend what you can afford?
It is an expensive hobby - well, it can be if you factor in hotel costs or club entry fees etc. However I'm not sure it's something I'd like to do every week... so I can budget for it.
If you can't afford all the fripperies (and believe me, I'm the Queen of pointless expenditure!) then don't do them.
I'm willing to bet I don't fuck any better now I've got nice nails....
And as for fancy underwear, sure it is nice to have new stuff but again only when you can afford. Buy a couple of nice sets you feel sexy and confident in and just make them your 'swing pants'

yup its expensive . we go clubbing it costs a lot more than if we didnt..going to socials warming hot tubs, getting food beer and little treats for those special nights blah blah blah all the above you have mentioned costs.. but just like any hobby it has a price, a price we are happy to pay and dont think about when things are going well.. when they arent then.. we pack it in..

Yes, but what is your personal view Ben? do the swinging benefits outweigh the swinging cost? Do you have to have a swinging budget as such? Can you afford to swing as often as you'd like or have you got a cosy arrangement in place that means you don't have to worry about such things.
