Ah happy days when you were given sixpence and you would come out of the shop with loads of kids used to say penny for the guy but nowadays they say pound for the guy and they accept all types of credit if you parents said it was bread and dripping for tea you thought you were posh lol

One question :
I've only ever known bottle caps to screw off and be plastic, myself being born in 1987. So if they're not plastic and they dont screw off - what the hell do they do??? lol

All the water then came out of the tap !!
None of this girly Volvic crap with its hint of peach. More like chlorine, and you loved it
What about going to the offy for some 'stout for me gran'?
and three fags being sold to a nine year old lol

No twin-tub for us - my mum had a "copper" for the washing - and a hand operated mangle.
I remember being sent to the ciggy shop for "10 Weights and a box of matches" and spending the change on crisps (only had blue bag salt flavour then) or a Jamboree bag or a huge bag of "Black Jacks" to make your tongue purple (four for an old penny).
The cars had a crank handle as a backup if the foot operated starter failed.
Parafin man - I remember him... once a week pumping "Esso Blue" into our can so we could fill up the parafin heaters.
In the winter we would wait in bed until mum had warmed the kitchen up by turning all the cooker rings and grill on... then we'd leg it through the house with our cloths under our arm so we could get dressed in the warm.
Having to clean out the ashes and save the coke to start a the fire.
And the moon landing

1987 - 6 years old : busy being thrown into walls and tossed around like a (American) football by my olderbrother and his stupid friends (he's 9 years older than me) I think I remember there was a hurricane or something like that around that time.. and yes He-Man was IT!!!
